So, I have mixed feelings. I absolutely freaking ADORE your fleece selection. In fact, I wish you were open on Sundays. I'm sitting here right now with a list of 14 yards I need to work on projects for my next booth! The ladies that work in your fabric section are always so kind and helpful and PATIENT, haha! I usually end up spending roughly 200-300 on fleece. We sometimes have to have to shopping buggies by the time I'm done. Y'all also have fairly competitive prices, although your plain colors I do find a bit high.
ANYways....
My mother was in town from Pennsylvania the week before Thanksgiving. We ended up getting I think 24 pieces of 2 yards each. There was a big pile of bolts of fleece on the table. Fleece bolts are extra bulky, because they are fleece. (duh). The fabric associate was joking with us, and helping me match fabrics, just a true delight.
Well. Y'all have one of the most rude, condescending, inappropriate manager I or my mother have ever seen in our 42 different states of residency throughout life. As she was walking past the department with another employee, eating on the floor and chewing with her rude mouth open, she made some seriously snide comments. She said that the fabric station looked a wreck and this is what happens when women of a certain generation (she was nastier) still try to work. She then told the girl to hurry and clock in so she can go fix "the mess".
MY MOTHER was here. This is where I brought her to show her I shop for my business, which supports her grandchildren. Are you KIDDING me???? I was mortified. I asked the woman if it would help if we told the manager it was all our fabric order on the counter, and she sadly said it would only make it worse. Great.
When we were checking out, I asked the girl at the register if she could somehow nonchalantly fit it into conversation that the two women who bought two buggies piled high of fleece were nice, so maybe that dumb manager of yours would realize how stupidly she truly acted. I hope that happened.
So, if anyone in the area could compete with y'all's selection, I wouldn't shop there anymore because of that manager's behavior. In fact, I just found a website that if I can work out a faster shipping method, I'm out. That manager should have to publicly apologize to her employees for being so nasty and condescending in public environments. She should also lose her managerial position and be demoted to something where she has no authority. She is obviously incapable of such...
Read moreI give it 4 stars because I love the place. However I do think the staff could be a bit nicer. I've never been greeted anytime I've walked in. During checkout I always talk to the cashier in any store I go to. It's just something just about everyone does. Tell a joke, talk about the product, weather, etc, etc... the cashiers here don't talk. It's like they think they are to good to talk. I've tried to conversate with the African American lady there with blonde hair. And it's just quick and like she doesn't want to. Yes I know they don't get paid to talk. But talking to customers makes them want to come back. Customers wants to go to a place that they know the people are nice and will talk. But my main problem is the model car section. It's like it's never on sale. I've went every week for the last 2 months and have spent over $100.00 each time. And every time they say none of its on sale. But the other store in Gastonia says that it is. If they could get tamiya models in, that would be awesome as well. But all they have is the lower brand Revell. And I wish they had more paints to choose from. But I still will recommend this place. Just don't expect to be...
Read moreWent to this location on 12/26/24 to do a return and make a purchase. I had a receipt for my return (over 90 days old) and they called over the manager Rebecca to process. She told me I couldn't return it because it was over 90 days old. When I asked if they could process without a receipt for the lowest selling price per the posted return policy sign and per the policy printed on the receipt she said no. I asked again... this is what your return policy says, can't you process without a receipt? She said no, I've now seen proof of purchase so I can't return it (makes zero sense). I asked if she could throw the receipt away and process without it, like the sign said and She slapped the receipt on the counter and told me to "have a blessed day" when she told me no. I then reached out to corporate via email to find out why they wouldn't follow their own return policy and was told to GO BACK WITH the receipt and they'd return it for me with a store credit. 🤦♀️ I explained Rebecca was very rude and I didn't want to deal with her again and could they mail me the store credit and was told no. So all in all, I've learned Hobby Lobbys customer...
