Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Gastonia

5 stars thanks to our wonderful server Lue who did not miss a beat with refilling our drinks and clearing our plates. It was not missed that she smiled and had pleasant exchanges with coworkers and other patrons. Even between clearing tables and filling drinks she continued working on what ever she saw that needed to be done, without missing a beat. Havi worked in restaurants and quick serve establishments for years as a hiring and training manager I can say with confidence that Lue was a treasure and an asset and I hope that is recognized by her management.

We moved from Las Vegas to Gastonia 1 year ago and finally tried the golden coral. There was one in Vegas that was not very good so it simply fell off our radar as an option. However, after a pretty tragic lunch experience at a different establishment yesterday we decided to give GC a chance. We were surprisingly impressed! This location was very clean, fully staffed, busy and the food options were full and looked like they were well rotated rather than left under the lights to dry out. Lunch prices were reasonable and the fact that kids 3 and under can eat free is amazing.

We have a toddler with special needs who can be a picky eater, some days he hardly has an appetite which means we have wasted a lot of money on uneaten children’s plates all over town. Today that was not the case, he loved choosing his own foods and ate everything on his plate, not once, not twice but three times!! Our son usually can not sit still at a table without incident so we were nervous about there not being any booths, but he sat in his seat and ate for almost the entire experience!! This in itself is also worth every one of the 5 stars possible. My husband and I were not disappointed by our food and also cleared our plates a time or two! We will be adding GC into our rotation and probably try to pop in for dinner time soon as well. I am glad we gave this...

The dessert bar was disgusting the bread pudding was hard as a rock they need better desserts newer things everything that's there has been there for years if I wanted cookies I could go to the Dollar Tree and buy cookies you need better desserts actually make some stuff other than Frozen stuff the food bar is okay I think that the veggies should be switched out once in awhile instead of the same old same old every single day of the week I wish you would use spoons that did not have holes in them as well so that we can actually get the juice out of like the cabbage for those of us that likes to put it on our cornbread although I did notice something that I did like the fact that you started putting the silverware on the table now I don't have to worry about all the kids touching my silverware that's going into my mouth that was disgusting when I was trying to go get silverware and I noticed that kids will pick it up and put it back so I don't have to worry about germs on the silverware anymore so that's a plus and I was there tonight at 7 and I just want to give praise to your cook who was on the grill for the steaks today is January 2nd 2018 I did not get the gentleman's name but he was awesome my steak was so moist and soft and tender it just melted in my mouth that the best state that I have received from your facility and over one year so he is definitely a keeper and ask for Kim your face painter she look like she had been sucking on lemons all day she was very unfriendly and you need to make her if she's going to take kids faces use actual face painting not the acrylic paint because I tried to get it and it was stuck and it was pulling her skin and now my child's face is all broke out oh yes and I almost forgot I want to also recognize our waitress tonight who was Brooke she was very friendly and sweet kept our drinks. FOLLOW-UP W/T PICS:

Okay okay it's me again now listen I thought that once we posted PREVIOUS review from my past experience, that it would get better, I thought they would make it better, but no everything is the same actually is WORSE, I have pictures this time. AC vent is right above the food and as I was standing there to get my food, water dripped from the DUSTY, DIRTY, MILDEWED AC VENT, there was also several more leaks from ceiling I noticed. I then requested to speak with a member of management and she stated that "the WHOLE BUILDING IS LEAKING", and that they were planning on knocking the building down in 3 yrs b/c of the building leaking. I did inform several couples not to stand under the vent so that the DIRTY, MILDEWED, DUSTY water would not drop onto their plate & possibly get sick from that. IT HIT MY ARM BUT JUST MISSED MY PLATE OF FOOD. And AGAIN THEY ARE STILL PLACING the TONGS ON TOP OF THE FOOD as people are using them without gloves so that's no telling what's on their hands(GERMS) when they touch the tongs and what's left on the food. The grill chef was extremely rude I asked HIM what type of MEAT was on the grill he acted like he cannot hear me and it was three of them standing behind the grill, I ASKED HIM NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF TIMES HE STILL ACTED AS IF HE COULD NOT HEAR ME BUT THE TO SPANISH LADIES WAS STANDING RIGHT BESIDE HIM THEY ALL STOOD AND LAUGHED WITH HIM WHILE I WAS ASKING QUESTIONS.
