I was talking with the family 4 generations of candy makers and future candy makers! Such great people, so friendly and knowledgeable about the area as they are all born and raised right there in Gatlinburg. We bought nearly $100 worth of candy. All so fresh and the best we have ever gotten in Gatlinburg. Glades may be small and old fashioned but there is something to be said in that. There are few families, Great smoky Mountain Natives, still living and working their trade left in Gatlinburg. Lots of shops are owned by bigger companies that ship products in from outside of the state or wherever. The family at Glades are hand making candy, every day. Best taste, best quality around! If you’re a local it’s definitely where you should shop to support local and if you are visiting the area you should support small family ran business in this current day! We will certainly shop, only here for our sweets from now on. Although they don’t have a website, they do have a FB page and said they would ship...

We got homemade ice cream, chocolate covered almonds, rock candy, lemon drops and assorted fudge. It was all AMAZING and we ate every bit of it by the next afternoon, lol. So we stopped back in but his time early enough for my oldest daughter to experience the goodness. We loaded up on even more treats and bought enough to share with our family back home. Not only were the treats delicious, but the young man behind the counter was top notch. He was helpful and kind. Plus, it’s not often you hear, “Have a...
Read moreThank you for bringing back so many fond memories from my childhood trips to Gatlinburg. We used to stop in for caramel apples and fudge each Fall when my family would vacation in the Smoky Mountains. Imagine my surprise when we walked in and the same couple were making fudge and peanut brittle just like they did when I was kid. We snagged quite an assortment of fudge, salted caramel and peanut brittle. The owners were very kind and didn't mind me excitedly going down Memory Lane. If you have young ones this is a great spot to stop and watch them make their sugary treats. It's far enough away from the craziness of the strip that you actually feel like you're in a small mountain town. Plus there's plenty of...
