Gearhart Market — Local services in Gearhart

I guess I'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate this store. Lots of beer & wine and not much produce. Shelves are stocked with mostly high-end items and not much to stock the pantry with. The deli is only so-so without much selection. Prices for a deli sandwich ($16 for a smoked turkey sandwich) just seem too far out of line. It would be nice if they could carry more everyday deli items in addition to the artisan selection they currently have. Sadly, I still have to go to Safeway (close by) or Fred Meyer (Warrenton) to get "real" groceries. This store is focused on "last minute" run in and run out items. Gearhart is plenty lucky to have this small-but-mighty local market as a central hub in our community. The owner and employees are thoughtful, hardworking, and kind. The produce is always fresh and seasonal based on what local farms are harvesting. A small selection of high-quality meats are reasonably priced. Dry goods, wine and beer selection are all great. The deli makes delicious sandwiches and to-go items.
