Iāve been to a number of rural DQs over the years, especially on the Oregon Coast, and this one has always stood out as a less-than-ideal experience. Most recently, this location was so bad that Iāve felt compelled to warn others with this review.
From the onset, we knew something was up when we saw a full restaurant of customers sitting empty handed. After receiving her order, a woman whispered, āgood luck,ā to us as she passed us in line on her way out the door.
Staff seemed undertrained and underprepared. We stood there awkwardly for a bit waiting to be called up to order, as a cashier quietly stared us down to make the first move; I donāt need to be pampered with greetings, but at least let me know youāre ready like every order experience, everywhere else, ever.
To add insult to injury, we were charged a whopping $1 for a water cup, and handed the smallest cup available rather than the 21oz we were rang up for, and there wasnāt any acknowledgement of this mistake when we asked for the correct size.
Orders came wildly out of order, and poorly called out. Weāre told our number would be called, but instead they just called out flavors. Do you know how many people have ordered a Oreo or Brownie Dough Blizzard after a day in the sun? About 90% of the people waiting.
Worse, we received parts of our order 10 minutes apart, as did many others. As we sat patiently in our booth waiting to be called, weād see group after group get maybe 75% of their order, leading them to wonder if the rest was forgotten, or mistaken with another order. As we watched, we could overhear another cashier realizing he had absolutely zero change in his drawer and start asking around the kitchen for a penny. As this location only allows one refill per visit, at least people were kept busy thinking how best to utilize that precious refill during their lengthy wait.
This is an older location, so I canāt fault its appearance as part of this experience. I do worry, however, what goes on behind the scenes of food handling, as the kitchen at this location is hidden from view unlike most (Seaside, for example).
Best keep on driving and find frosty relief at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have already contacted your customer relations team. They were of no help. DO NOT GO HERE Absolute worst experience I've ever had at a Dairy Queen. To get deliberately treated bad just because you were making an order is ridiculous. They hated their lives and their jobs so much that they were treating customers like we were a bother to them and their time. After preparing our food they just let it sit there on the counter and melt. No one said our number, not once. I had to investigate in order to find out my food was ready. After calling the manager, i can see why all of the employees hate their job. The snarky attitude in her voice while I asked for my refund was astonishing. I got a call back only to hear how difficult it was for her to do her job and then I was ignored for a month. Later after contacting customer service, the manager then lied about calling me and leaving a voicemail. Finally after multiple attempts I got call from the owner. No wonder the entire store can't provide customer service and kindness. The owner is just as bad. She blamed me for how the store handled the whole situation. I still haven't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time eating at a DQ and can I just say, the staff was AMAZING. They helped me pick out a delicious burger and were accomodating in my dad's super weird request for hot water to melt sugar to add to his tea then had a nice conversation with us while our food was being prepared. Great service experience. Then when we got the actual food... also amazing. I got the flamethrower burger and instantly fell in love. My brother got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich which was also delicious. Their cheese curds were superb as were the french fries and their fry sauce reminds me of in-n-out's all in all, i can't believe it took me this long to actually eat food from DQ but now it is one of the first places I think of when I need...
