Supermart Gearhart — Local services in Gearhart

I have come here to address a review that was left a couple days ago, along with some others from the past.

This store deserves nothing but 5 stars. The worker Hailey was referring to is one of the best employees they have. He has every locals favorite items memorized, he runs around the store helping customers when he isn’t being tipped to do so, and he cares about his job just as much as the next guy there.

I would like to disagree with her statement about being a “tourist only” spot. The more you come to this store, the more personalized the experience will be. I’m sure there are some soft people out there who can’t take jokes, but one thing about these guys is they will never make the same mistake twice. They care more about customer service than you think.

I have had this particular worker in question help me take items out to my car, gift me clothing that didn’t fit him for free, and I’ve experienced time and time again him giving that same service to others that, like me, never asked for it.

These guys are the only store open 24 hours within 15 miles either way. They stay up overnight and work graveyard so you can shop at your own leisure whenever you’d like. Shut up about the prices too. 24 bucks for a 30 rack is insane for a coastal town. Get your money up.

I’ve given this store multiple chances before deciding to leave a review. Unfortunately, there is one employee whose behavior continues to make each visit uncomfortable and unpleasant. Every time I’ve come in while he’s working, I’ve been met with a dismissive attitude, inappropriate comments, and unprofessional behavior.

On separate occasions, he has made personal remarks while checking my ID once calling me “pretty” in a way that felt uncomfortable and another time questioning if it was even me because I wasn’t wearing makeup and looked tired. That kind of commentary is unnecessary and unprofessional.

In addition, he often sits on his phone when customers enter, offers no greeting, and has a habit of tossing or juggling items at checkout, which feels careless and disrespectful.

While this store may be fine for a quick stop as a tourist, as a local, I won’t be returning. Consistent, respectful customer service matters and sadly, that’s not what I’ve...
