By The Way — Restaurant in Gearhart

Great little place to sit outside and relax with a coffee. They serve Sleepy Monk coffee, which is excellent. They have some cool items and art pieces as well. Very "coastlike" items that fit the location, for sure. The gentleman (owner?) was very nice and accommodating.

There are seats outside the storefront and even a water dish for dogs as well as a leash hookup if you'd like to leave the dog outside while you shop.

There's an ice cream place across the street that may serve food as well, but I wish this place would serve sandwiches or some items for lunch. That's all it's missing in my opinion.

Give it a visit when you're in Gearhart. It's a very relaxing area compared to the tourist...

We come to the coast every year. Typically, we stay in Cannon Beach or Seaside but this time stayed with friends in Gearhart and happened upon this By The Way by accident on our first day. The coffee was fantastic, Dave was friendly and funny, and the store was quaint and clean. The berry scone was delicious! The next day we decided to visit a coffee shop in CB and waited in line for 30+ minutes and much to our disappointment our coffees were not good.
