Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Geneva

Wait to long in checkout line!!! Does not have certain things in stock.. Fiji water!! Fruit not fresh. I have to travel to Madison for supplies. 7/19/21 was there this morning. Again many of the fruit and vegetables are not stocked. Jerry's supposed to be on sale but there was none out. People who work in the bakery are top-notched very pleasant and polite. The same for the people who work behind the delicatessen. But again going to check out line... Took me about 5 minutes to get the items I needed and I stood in line for well over 10 minutes!!!! 9/14/21 was in the store today to buy a few things. Took about 10 minutes to get what groceries I needed and went to the checkout line. They only had two checkout lines open and one was for 12 items and under. I waited in line over 20 minutes just to get out of the place. That was ridiculous!!!! There was plenty of workers in the store until they finally called a couple other people up to open up the other checkout lines after waiting in line for 20 minutes. 10/11/21. Place hasn't changed. Went into store to grab few things for mother. Took about 10 minutes or less to get few items. I SPENT 27 "FREAKING" MINUTES IN CHECKOUT LINE. 27 MINUTES!!!! Only had 2 checkout lines open. I have decided I will drive either to Madison or Ashtabula to get groceries for now on. Geneva Giant Eagle is ridiculous. People who work there are fabulous but having to wait that long in checkout line...C'MON MAN 10/31/21 went to the store this morning to get 12 items for my mother. Still got it back into them it's Sunday morning the store was not overly crowded. When I came to the checkout line I think everyone in the store got in line. Lol. There was three checkout lines open plenty and plenty of workers. I stood in the 12 items or less checkout line 20 freaking minutes!!!! 20 MINUTES!!! I DON'T GET IT. I WISH GENEVA HAD ANOTHER...

I Rarely grocery shop anywhere else-why would I? Prices are right, staff is phenomenal, convenient, in and out fast if I need-or stay and wander a while if I’m feeling it, stocked with all I need and I can grab my prescriptions while I’m there-State Liquor Store-lottery-Redbox-it’s right there. This Giant Eagle always has a good sale on one thing or another that you don’t see at the others-with the exception of Saybrook. Great ribs grilled outside on some weekends-most every holiday weekend if not every single one. Most important to me; this Giant Eagle is just the right size. Not an oversized supermarket that lines isles with 25 boxes of the exact same item-I can get my steps in on my own terms instead of weaving through miles of carts and groceries. Always friendly cashiers and people stocking shelves will always go the extra mile if you need something. Pharmacy is always good-usually fast-but often get busy-never...

I shop a lot here being close by. There are some very nice people here. Prices are high. But when there are price tags in front of an item showing marked down, the items are not scanned showing it. I had to ask a young man at register and he ignored it until I wanted a price check. Another employee came to check the item on the shelf. I was right and she just says. Here is your $3.00 off. Very snotty because she had to walk and check. I said thank you nicely but no response. If you cannot do your job then maybe there are some nice employees out there that can.. This isn’t the first time that this happened to me. Customers should check all prices and make sure what is being scanned is correct. We as customers need to be treated better because without us you wouldn’t have a job. Please be kind as it goes a long way. I will still shop there and will avoid the unfriendly staff.
