I used to count on being able to shop at my local Meijer for everything. One stop shopping is very important to busy mom's on the go. However, the last 4 trips I've made to Meijer have been less than satisfying. The selection of items for toddlers has gone down hill. I couldn't find my son's favorite crackers, normal slippers (all they had were skidders), diaper bags for our diaper disposal container, and the right size of diapers. I understand that it's not easy to predict demand when items are on sale and they need to move other products to get them out of their inventory, that's fine. What bothers me the most is that when you go through the checkout line the cashier always asks, "Did you find everything alright?" and when the answer is yes, everything is hunky-dory, but if you answer no, they don't do anything about it, not one of the 4 cashiers continued the conversation when I said I couldn't find a certain product. To me that is a clear signal that they either don't care OR they are not trained to handle that answer. On top of that, when I went on line to give feed back to the Jenison Meijer, I couldn't find a complaint department, and they treated my feed back like an inquiry. Honestly, that was not helpful in the least and further reinforces the feeling that they don't care if their customers are dissatisfied and have no intention of training their cashiers on what to do if the answer is no, I couldn't find everything. If I don't start to see improvement in my next couple trips I will be taking my business elsewhere. Walmart offers one stop shopping as well and their customer service can't be any worse than what I've...
Read moreThe Jenison Meijer is one of the better Meijer locations I’ve visited. The store is clean, bright, and well-organized, making it easy to find what I need without wandering around. Shelves are usually well-stocked, especially in produce and meat, which are consistently fresh and high-quality. I especially appreciate the variety—whether it’s groceries, household goods, or seasonal décor, there’s always something worth picking up.
The staff here is friendly and helpful. On several occasions, employees have gone out of their way to walk me to an item rather than just pointing me in the general direction. The checkout process is generally smooth, with self-checkout machines in good working order and enough registers open during busy hours.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because, during peak times, the store can feel a little crowded and aisles can get clogged with stocking carts. While this is understandable in a busy store, it can make navigating with a cart a bit tricky. Also, there have been a couple of times when popular sale items were sold out earlier than expected.
Overall, though, this Meijer is a reliable, well-run location that I shop at regularly. With friendly staff, good product quality, and a wide selection, it’s a solid choice for both quick trips and big weekly...
Read moreThe ABSOLUTE WORST PICKUP SERVICE EVER!!! I placed my order at noon, got an ambiguous voice-mail about 10 minutes later from some Meijer associate saying due to the volume of orders my pickup time from 6-7 pm wouldn't be possible. So I called immediately and after 2 transfers I was told my order was still in the system, but they wouldn't be able to tell me what time I can anticipate pick up. At 8:15 pm I called the call center for .com orders, they said my order was being shopped, but would transfer me to the Jenison store pickup to figure out when the order would be ready. The associate who answered the Jenison Meijer Pickup said they had no more orders to fulfill tonight. I said, "actually you do, mine which I've been waiting to pick up all day!" She told me, "you were misinformed" No trying to figure out what went wrong, no we'll fill your order now or we could fulfill when it's convenient for you to pick up...NOTHING. Well, she did say, "you were misinformed...sorry". I'm so upset. I had $150+ in my cart and this was the first time I tried "pickup" and I will never attempt it again. Stick with Shipt, this Meijer location is worthless...not to mention they are always out of stock with the most basic items even...
