This is actually where I tried Thai food for the first time many years ago, and I absolutely loved it! After I moved away from the area I was bummed out about not being able to eat here anymore, aside from when I come home to visit family/friends. However, due to a recent experience, I feel extremely disrespected and very likely won't be back.
On Saturday 10/6 I came in with my gf and another friend for dinner, I did arrive at 8:05pm (55 mins before closing) but I thought that'd be plenty of time to order/eat/leave. NOPE. We walked in behind a takeout order, and the girl working asked if we were picking up and when I said we were looking to eat in she informed us they weren't taking any more diners in the restaurant. This was a little annoying, but I looked down at my phone and it was now 8:07pm. Maybe 53 minutes isn't as long as I thought it was.
The couple ahead of us getting takeout was also surprised but they light-heartedly suggested that we order takeout, which I agreed with, because the food is still really great (to my memory) and taking it home wouldn't be the end of the world.
So we start looking at the takeout menus (the same girl that told us no more dine in tonight is still helping the couple ahead of us) as this goes on another girl working there comes out and 2 or 3 other customers attempt to come in (the entrance is very cramped). As the couple in front of us finally has their large order confirmed/paid for they again light-heartedly say, "alright now these guys can order some food they look hungry!" and that's when the 2nd girl tells everyone standing in the doorway (that have been here 5-10 minutes now) that they aren't taking any more orders at all tonight, take out or dine in, because of a problem with the hood vent in their kitchen (or something along those lines).
WHY COULDN'T THE FIRST GIRL JUST TELL ME THAT RIGHT AWAY!?! OR THE GIRL THAT WALKED IN/OUT OF THE ROOM 3 TIMES BEFORE SHE DID TELL US THAT? Is it disappointing to not get the food I wanted for dinner? Yeah. But things happen out of our control, I'm not unreasonable I completely understand that. The reason I'm upset and feel disrespected is because 2 employees had the opportunity to tell my party, and the other customers that walked in after us that for like a solid 10 minutes, but but instead let us stand around and look through the menu. It just feels super rude, and what went from being happy memories of eating here for me, has turned sour.
In all honesty, what happened to my party will probably not happen to anyone else, save extremely rare situations. So in all truth if you go you'll likely have a good experience and amazing food. But given my most recent experience I'm not going to go out of my way to recommend them like I had been doing before. They keep 2 stars for...
Read moreI love everything about Bangkok Taste. Normally, we've been served by the owner's daughter-in-law, and sometimes she has her kids with her. We think she and the whole family are such wonderful people. It's awesome to have family run authentic restaurants; they feel so much warmer and happier than "chains." This time, we were served by a newer employee, who was also very competent, friendly, and kind! Try the Bangkok Fried Rice (any meat you want, but the shrimp is amazing!) I like it at a spice level 1, just enough heat to let you know it's there but not blast you or build into a furnace! You can't get this dish at any other Thai restaurant in town. It has some subtle flavors, a little sweet, a little savory, a lot delicious! I spent 3 glorious weeks eating in Thailand. We even went to the Blue Elephant in Bangkok. This simple Bangkok Fried Rice dish sums up my favorite flavors on this trip. I often had a slightly simpler fried rice dish like this one for breakfast in Thailand. But there are lots of other yummy things on the menu... the crispy rolls are hard to turn down, green curry, pad thai (theirs is so authentic!) And much, much more! It's just a little strip mall restaurant, but their service and food are top drawer. And I love seeing the royal family pictures and other decor. The green guava candies are also a unique Thai touch as you leave. Go here, eat amazing food, and experience the warm, friendly Thai...

C1 Sesame Chicken (spice level 5 of 7): Oops. I thought it was 5 of 10. My bad. Wow, that was intense. I can do habanero hot and “HOT” according to them is about that. Be careful with their spice. I personally would probably do medium (3) next time to enjoy it better or medium+ (4) if I was feeling adventurous.
That said, the chicken was amazing. The breading was soaked with the sweet sauce nicely and was delicious. It was a tad tangy, but I liked it in this case. The majority of the dish was chicken by far, but there was still enough veggies to add to the flavor some excellent dynamics.
I weighed what I ate and it was almost exactly 1.25 lbs with a lot of sauce still left. It is a fairly sizable portion and a good price for that much at this quality.
This was picked up and brought to us at work. The packaging did not do well for my dish and it made for a real mess in the bag with the runny sauce. There was still plenty left, though. It was still plenty hot (temperature-wise) when it arrived, though. That was NOT an issue at all.
Conclusion: I have not had Thai much, but I’ve had enough to know a little of what to expect. This was medium quality and a fair price. I’d recommend them if you like Thai.
