Low Inventory - They don’t want to fix it either!
Since moving to Georgetown, we have been shopping at the HEB on Williams Drive, mainly because it's the larger store of the 2 (the other being close to us on Hwy29 and I-35 area). When we first started, one of my treats was to go into the HEB and get a crescent roll donut, to munch on while shopping. They're all of $0.50 I believe, and I just tell the checker when we check out that I got a donut (they're all priced the same). I did this for years at the HEB on FM620 and Cat Hollow, and never had an issue.
Well, this HEB, for the past few months, has been running out of these crescent roll donuts! They seem to be the biggest seller. So, you'd think they'd keep them refilled, right? (Donald Trump voice) "WRONG!!!" Each time I ask them, I get the response, "Well, we make them in the morning and when they're gone, they're gone." Even a manager responded that way.
I told them, "Well, I don't shop in the morning, but in the later part of the day, and often on the weekends, like many of your customers. And when I come here to shop, I don't expect the store to be "out of stock" because they didn't plan or keep track of how quickly it sells. Actually, I know for a fact (a manager told me) that their computer keeps track inventory and sales, so they can keep stock. So, why not do this in the donut section? I don't know, but I have asked several times, and even asked a manager to see what they could do. Their response, "Well, you could come in the morning and we should have some ... but sometimes we have customers come in who buy them all up." Seriously? That's the "award winning customer service from HEB" that I've come to know?
So, I've been talking to my wife, and it seems this HEB has now lost our business. There is one on FM1431, just South of Georgetown, and it's even bigger (as least it seems so). They, like the Round Rock store I used to love, "always" have crescent donuts made and ready to buy. THAT is where we are taking our business.
Did we give the HEB on Williams Drive amply opportunity to fix this? Oh, I think so. I've spoken to 3 or 4 different employees who work there in the bakery, and even to their manager. NOBODY seems to care that customers are wanting to buy a product that they are too lazy to make more of. So, they had they're chance. We're taking...
Read moreI had a very unfortunate encounter today at this HEB Pharmacy. If I am not mistaken, the person who interacted with me was Jennifer. As a disabled veteran unable to drive while in the pharmacy drive-thru, after I pressed the help button at the outside drive-thru kiosk, I was asked what I needed, to which I replied; to see if 2 prescriptions are ready for pickup (I had another to drop off as well) but I was abruptly refused service because I was not in a vehicle but rather on foot while being told I need to be in a vehicle. Rather than hold others up inline, I informed her at that time that I would come inside.
When I did; I asked to speak with the manager to find out exactly why I was denied service. A Center Store Leader was called and I explained to him that I am sick with something contagious, disabled and that I wanted to know if there was a policy that would somehow deny me service at the pharmacy drive-thru because I walked up to it, and if so, I wanted to see it or have a copy sent to me. I want to know this for future reference and planning as a customer, in particular because I do not drive and have to make arrangements for travel. I further explained, I may not want the person driving me to know what medications I am picking up or dropping off. He couldn't confirm if such a policy existed, but informed me that they've had people on foot struck in the parking lot. I asked him if they've had any in the pharmacy drive-thru struck, to which he replied no, no we have not. I told him it's probably because there, people are waiting in line and not driving thru the parking lot, enabling them to strike someone on foot. I asked if I could leave him my information so that he could send me the requested documentation or follow-up with me. He did not take it, but rather gave me his card and told me he would speak with the employee. While this was appreciated, and he was kind and apologetic, it still did not fulfill the service I came there for or what I was now requesting.
Regardless, whether one is on foot, in a wheel chair, on a bicycle or riding a horse, these are all considered modes of transportation and I'd sincerely like to know why I was denied service today, if it was because of my mode of transportation or if it was something else, not due to my mode of...
Read moreI find the workers at this HEB to be very courteous. My husband and I are both business owners and for the people below, if something is wrong, you must tell the business owner. If you do not, then things cannot be corrected. Also, mistakes can be made because people are only human. If something is wrong, let them know so they can correct the mistake. I never complain on reviews like this because all businesses make mistakes. They do not want it to be like that but they must trust their workers to do a good job. If they don't know what's happening they cannot correct it. I've gotten cakes from this HEB and they were very good. The experience below is just one experience and cannot affect a decision. I have found that I did not like the pharmacy there but then I went back a year later and I did like it. It all depends on who is working there but the owner must know what is going on for corrections to be made. I would report to a manager first and then if the manager doesn't respond, then report to the CEO. You can find them usually by typing in your search engine, CEO HEB corporate office. You can then at least call the office and at least leave a message on the CEO's voice mail. They will listen because it is important to them that their businesses are running the way they should be. But keep in mind that businesses do make mistakes and that the owners are trying their best to run it. If you owned a business you would not treat people terribly only to lose business; however, the workers below you, who have no idea what goes on with owning a business, most of the time could care less. HEB in Georgetown is a wonderful HEB!! I have no...
