Ogeechee Meat Market — Local services in Georgetown

So I don't live in Savannah just here in the area for a couple month's for work. Have been doing about $100 - $150 worth of meat a week for me and my family for about 4 weeks now. PRICES: I can't really say much. Not too terribly familiar with the local market prices seems to be about average. QUALITY: Purchased steaks, pork chops, sausage, pork shoulder, tons of jerky meat never had an issue! The quality was always really great. SERVICE: This is where we part ways in general the store staff was hit or miss they have alot of youngsters and sometimes they're great and sometimes not. ONE STAR: I work outside there business hours which renders me incapable of physically stepping in the store, I would place my orders over the phone and the wife would pick them up and just grab whatever she needed when she arrived. The first 3 visits this was not an issue. On the 4th visit however the OWNER took my order, He made it very clear that he understood what I wanted and that it would be ready when my wife arrived. When my wife arrived the order was not ready, pain in the butt with the 4 kids and one on the way, but no big deal. Oh well. They, instead of writing down my order, just tried to reconfirm it with my wife and of course she has know idea what i ordered, and it turns out wrong. When i called to asked for a return and a better understanding of what went wrong the OWNER ( Who literally took my order over the phone) took my call And offered to return my product with no issues and then continued to explain that they do not take orders over the phone, And he would fire whoever he found out was doing it before. This is bad basic business, And terrible communication. The owner's attitude was easily that I could take my business elsewhere which unfortunately I have no other choice. Due to my long work hours. Went there yesterday for the first time. Drove about 50 minutes from HHI. We finally found our Butcher Shop and we will continue to go back! So friendly and knowledgeable about everything! We purchased Freezer Deal #1. We were even able to exchange an item for their homemade sausages! I believe the gentleman that helped us was John? We will remember him and ask for him when we return! We also purchased their smoked pulled pork and fresh shrimp, which we had for Dinner.. EXCELLENT! I can't wait to go back and try other items. They have Frozen vegetables and fresh fish and a lot of takeout items which are available. I saw their smoked meatloaf! Next time I will have to purchase that as a pre-made to-go item. We are new to the area and I just have to say I absolutely LOVE Ogeechee Meat Market!!! Meat markets werent really a thing back home, there was one but a good 30 minute drive from us and was super expensive. I have been to Ogeechee twice in the last week because we loved them so much! We got a managers special a few days ago which filled our freezer pretty well and yesterday I got country low boil ingredients. My first attempt at CLB was amazing!! The employees are all so nice and just went with my dumb questions with a smile behind their masks! I didnt really know what I needed and had no idea on weekends they even cook the CLB and have it available, which is awesome!!
