Went here today with another family we were vacationing with. There were 10 of us (4 adults and 6 kids). We checked the website to make sure they were open and it said until 10:00 p.m. We got there around 4:30 p.m. The attendant seemed to be in a bad mood right off the bat. There was one group in front of us and then after we were on the second or third hole another group started behind us.
The kids were being a little rowdy but they are between 5-13 yrs old and there are 6 of them. We noticed the attendant watching us while we played and at one point was gesturing toward our son. To be fair, he hit a rock with his club but as soon as my wife saw him she stopped him and handled it.
When we got finished (about 6:10 p.m.) the attendant seemed very irritated. As the rest of our group went to the car I was finishing our score so I could return the pencil. I heard the group behind us tell the attendant we were slow, even though they never seemed to be waiting on us. Part of our group actually started the next hole while we were playing the previous so we wouldn't hold them up. I heard the attendant remark back that they closed at 6:00 p.m.
If they close at 6:00 then they need to change their website so that people are aware. It wasn't like we showed up at 5:30. The attendant needs to work on his people skills if he's going to work at a family mini-golf. He also continued to watch us in the parking lot as we tried to figure out dinner plans and started yelling something at our daughter who was looking at a chicken. Even though we were enjoying the mini-golf, this turned out to be a terrible experience...
Read moreI am so glad we chose to go here instead of the other options. Out of all the mini golf places I have been, from Duluth to Cherokee, this was the best experience by far. We went after dark on a weekend. They were surprisingly open, and it was not overcrowded. I do not know his/her name, but there was a cat with a collar and a name tag there. I probably should have read the name tag. She sat on the spot that I figured I should avoid on Hole 3 or Hole 4, as if she was a Golf Guardian... I was able to make Par for that hole due to her. We were also able to pet her throughout our time being there :). Of course, we had to call her back to us a couple of times. This was a better, more romantic mini golf date than I could have ever imagined. I also made my first (and probably only) hole in one at this location. It was even better because I was petting the cat again by the time I made it in. Also, the water out-of-bounds areas seemed to be ingeniously designed to bounce balls back on the course without having to chase them down the river. I have never dealt with water features at mini golf courses that work as well as these work. Finally, upon return of your balls, one of them earned us a free play through the pegboard located at the very end! This mini golf course is only 53 minutes from Dawsonville! I forgot to mention, they provided punch cards at the begining! Tonight was truly magical, and I 100% plan on returning as soon as I can. Thank you for such a wonderful date, hospitality, and...
Read moreWe loved this place and will be back! Helen (the owner) was so sweet and you could tell she loved her job. She used to own a deep sea fishing company and showed my kids an album of pictures of her adventures with cool pics of sharks, of course! My kids loved it.
Helen even includes some shark teeth in some of the bags for gem mining. How cool is that?!? She said they don't pick and choose what is in each bag. Everything is random, so everyone gets a great mix of gems, and possibly a shark tooth also! One of my kids found one after sifting the gem bag.
We got the large bag for each of our kids and we mined for over half an hour. We make it last longer by sifting about a 1/2 cup cup at a time. Even with that, we would discover something different every time! They absolutely loved that experience.
My kids loved the mini golf course too, and it was challenging enough for each of us. There is a beautiful spring that runs down the center of the course. At the end of the course, we each placed our golf balls into a blinko type game to return them. If your ball landed in a certain spot, you received a free game the next time you returned. We received two...
