On May 8th 2020 I visited the Germantown target mobile department. I was assisted by an employee named Peggy Holt. I was there to get an IPhone pro Max. My motivation to upgrade my phone was the $200 dollar gift card being offered to Verizon customers. Not my first time acquiring a gift card from target during one of these promotions. You see I am a loyal Target customer.
The mobile department has to do all of their verification work etc. to get your service upgraded. This is where my troubles began. Upon entering my information into Targets system I was blocked from upgrading due to Targets system stating I had a pending bill. Verizon was called. And everything looked ok on their end (no pending balance). Peggy stayed on the phone trying to resolve the issue for close to 3 hours. All the while still working the register and attending to other customer questions/concerns. After repeat calls to various departments within Target there was still no resolve. Peggy suggested I return the next day vowing she would do her best to get my line upgraded.
The next day I returned thinking that what ever glitch that prevented my upgrade in Targets system would have been worked out. Especially since Peggy had spent 3 hours on the phone with Target reps the day Before. Well I was wrong. This day I was helped by Elon Clarke who just like Peggy tried his best to get past the flaws in Targets system to get my phone updated. He too spent several hours on the phone going over the same things that were explained the day before. I watched 2 employees trying to do their best, trying to keep the customer happy when their resources were just are not working. I did not leave with a phone this day either but I was told a call would be made to his manager Christine Myer and to return tomorrow.
It’s now May 10th. Mother’s Day. I go back to Target because I could not bring myself to believe that what ever glitch or issue that was happening within your system had not been resolved. Not with the amount of effort I watched your employees put in. Well the same issue occurred 3 days in a row. And again. I did not get to upgrade my phone nor did I get the $200 gift card that I had so anxiously accounted as my second Mother's Day gift. (My Iphone Pro Max) being my first Mothers Day gift. Very disappointing experience.
If I can say anything good about this situation is Target has some amazing employees in your Germantown Mobile Department. Peggy and Elon never lost their cool in what was a irritating process for all involved. I watched them annoyed as ever with Targets Customer Service Reps but still maintain their composure with all of the customers and still do their job. Still try to reassure me that they will get the issue resolved. Which from my view was not easy at all.
I’m not sure what Target does to recognize employees who go above and beyond, I really just wanted to make sure Peggy and Elon get recognized for their commitment and outstanding customer service.
Please find a way to resolve this issue for future Target customers. It was a lot of time wasted for your employees as well as your loyal...
Read moreI will NEVER set foot in a Target again. I went there to buy what would be my second GPS from them. I was also looking for a gift bag for my sons birthday gift. I must have Batman on it. To my delight, I found a really nice one for only $2.89, but no GPS I liked. While I was at it I picked up 2 toy cars at $5.99 each for my other son and paid with my Target card. So there, I had 3 items. I went home to hide the gift bag until Tuesday and looked at the receipt. Oddly, the items were not named correctly on the receipt. I was charged $6.99 and $5.99 twice. $4 is a lot to overpay for an item, so I went back to fix it. They gave me the runaround for 15 mins asking if I was sure I didnt get something else. I kept saying no and asking if they could explain why the names of the items were weird on the receipt. I had not heard what the security guard had to do with it, but he was shown something on the receipt and went off to do something. I was losing my patience after waiting more than 5 minutes. All they had to do was adjust it. I was furious when the guard returned and walked up to me and said he was looking at the tapes to see what I put in my bag. He said he had footage of me walking away but he could not see what I had. He told the rep to go ahead and refund me the difference. The cashier was very rude to me. Wtf?! You think I stole something, then returned the next day to get a partial $4 refund?? I was so infuriated. Just...wow. I will never set foot in Target again. I am only one customer, but I get it. I think they treated me that way because I am black. I am not done yet Target. Glad Walmart is...
Read moreWent in to buy a game, the guy in the video game section was rude and didn't want to help me find where a game is (I know nothing about games, it was a gift) and instead pointed to an isle and said it was there. Ok, I couldn't find it so I guess I'll order it online. Went to the register with a clearance item. It came up $15 more than the ticket price. The cashier ripped the ticket off and said someone must've put it there, and said I'd have to pay the price that it came up. Mind you, there is no way for me to tell what the price is supposed to be since the sticker wasnt ripped, it was on the package nicely. The guy at customer service was the only person that was understanding and tried to help. He took 25% off and said he could call a manager if I wanted a price match. The manager came up and was unhelpful. Said I need to understand that the ticket was there by mistake and that I would have to pay the price with the 25% off and she couldn't do a price match. I get it if they CANT do it. But her attitude from the moment she came up there was bad. They need to make sure things are getting marked down correctly so this doesn't happen. Biggest complaint is the attitude of the people working there. Don't work retail if you can't at least pretend to...
