I went in yesterday for a perm at 12:45.. I couldnât remember the name of the lady who did my last few perms at that salon until after it was done⌠Laura Lynn was who did my perms and I guess she isnât there anymore? Or is the store manager? But with that being said I explained to the stylist what I wanted and even showed her a couple pictures of the type of curls I wanted. I didnât want to do spiral curls like I usually do so she brought out the pink rods and said that they were the biggest rods they had. All I wanted was a natural looking loose curls. After getting everything she needed to start the perm she told me she doesnât like doing perms cause the solution gives her migraines⌠which to me made me feel uncomfortable because thatâs exactly what Iâm there for is to get a perm and now I felt bad because with her doing my perm, I didnât want her to get a headache, So I said to her âare you sure you wanna do thisâ and she told me if she didnât want to she would have decline the appointment. While she is wrapping up my hair in the pink rods I noticed that they were not tight. They were very loose and honestly looked sloppy some hair was falling off the rod. I felt like the whole process was being rushed. After she put the cap on after putting on the solution, the other Stylist to the left of us open both front and back door and just had an attitude like she wasnât happy a perm was being done and said out loud â that perm solution is too strong todayâ which made people look at me and made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. She set a timer for 20mins and said 10 after 2pm we should be good to rinse. Mind you she never once check the curl pattern in those 20mins to check and see if the curl was taking or not. And she didnât wait the full 20mins before taking me to rinse it out. After rinsing out the solution she put something else in my hair and it ended up getting all in my ears and on my face⌠yes she did at some point take a towel and wipe it off from my ears but that was after letting it sit for a few minutes. She took the rods out and sat me up and walked over to her chair and I was very disappointed what I saw in the mirror. There was no curls towards the front of my hair⌠it was pretty flat!!!! She said I have a bob cut (which I donât have a bob, my hair is all one length) and I have no layers so the curls arenât holding like they would if I would have had layers in my hair. So she took a razor looking hair tool and just started slicing hair off the front with no rhyme or reason. I asked her if I should get a haircut and add layers and she said â no youâll be fineâ and left it at that. I paid $125 for my hair too not be curly and I tipped her $25 cause I always tip 20% but I definitely overpaid for what I got! I will never come back and I work really hard for my money as a single mom just like a lot of us do and I feel like I was taken advantage of. At best that perm should have been $60-$80 tops!!! Also my hair stinks so bad!! I know itâs supposed to smell like Sulfur but I couldnât even be in my husbands truck without him having to crack a window cause it so strong even after her rinsing it out! I know theres supposed to be a smell but man it isnât supposed to be this strong!!! At this point Iâve just put my hair up so I donât look like a wet dog and try to minimize the smell until I can wash my hair out!!! Iâm so disappointed đ and wish I could get some of my money back which I know wonât happen but it should to make things right!!! But I wonât be coming back or recommending this place to anyone! I included photos of my results and also pics of what I showed her I wanted and you can see itâs nothing CLOSE to what I asked and paid for!! Also I know your hair texture has a lot to do with how a perm holds etc⌠so if she thought maybe going with smaller rods would have been better cause my hair is longer and would weigh the curl down more then why didnât she just recommend that? I have no extra money to go get this fixed so Iâm stuck with my hair looking horrible đ very...
Read moreI donât usually post reviews but this one has been heavy on my heart. I wonât name drop anyone - but please only schedule with someone you know and trust here. The girl who did my hair was incredibly sweet and friendly but I would not recommend to anyone. I called in and scheduled an appointment to donate 10 inches of my hair, which was grown well past the top of my butt. When I went in, I talked with my stylist about where I was donating, how I understood we needed to cut a few inches of dead ends off first so it would be slightly shorter than I was hoping, and stressed that I was 3 months post partum and my hair would start shedding soon so I didnât want to lose all my length. We looked at the total length and agreed that my hair would end up sitting 3 or 4 inches under my collar bone. She washed my hair, cut the dead ends off (as discussed, only 2-3 inches - it had been a while since my last cut), and then put my hair in one braid and chopped it off without measuring. She held it up and said âthis looks like a good 10 inchesâ The braid itself was a full 16 inches (see photo), and she kept cutting more and more off trying to even the cut. Eventually she blow dried my hair, I paid and tipped her and went home. Once I got home, I was truly in shock at how uneven and ridiculously short it was. I called back in around 4:30pm and asked for a refund because I was just beside myself. The manager offered to even the cut out for me, and to her credit she squeezed me in an hour later so I didnât have to brave walking around with the hair lol. She did a good job evening out what was left of my hair, I asked her not to take any more length so Iâm sure she could have made it completely even but I was not about to lose anymore off the ends. I ended up telling her I didnât need a refund since she had put in her time - and she even went the extra mile and offered me a free haircut with her in a few months when I had more length to comfortably work with. While I really appreciated the effort from her, I was disappointed that while she said she was sorry I was unhappy, it didnât seem like there was any acknowledgment that I did indeed leave with my hair butchered, and just a lot of comments about how hairstylists frequently help each other out if a cut isnât what the client wanted. The pictures where Iâm in a white shirt are the cut I came home with, and the blue is after the manager fixed it. Anyway - Iâve been here many times and have usually had really great cuts and experiences but after this ordeal I donât see myself...
