I ordered 3 times in past 2 days from this place. Yellow dal and chana were okay but today veg pulao was worst quality. Those are smelly and tastes old preparation. Called to give feedback and owner started arguing how it is bad. Now how would you provide feedback about a food? How it tastes to you. I did and owners are unmovable. Wasted my money, time and effort and now me and my family is sitting hungry. Spoilt my evening, mood and appetite. I will never order from them again and they don’t seem to care. Update: 4/22/2021 13:17 If you see the response below from owners you would know the kind of “service” they provided and my ordeal with them. Thank you for making the whole thing about if my recalling of dish name is correct or not. It’s like arguing on a political tv channel. The basic issue is, it is a food and any food should not smell like that. You asked me how is it bad... how can I explain you taste on my tongue? I think I need to get prescription from you on the portion of food we eat. Your stale food is still on my countertop, half thrown into garbage. The lady on phone kept trying to bully me and in the same tone asked me for photograph. I was not sure if we are going in right direction. You could not simply take a feedback from a customer and rather would bully them to be honest. This is not about the money I wasted, this is about ruining my experience and day. Posting a pic but not sure how much it will help you to understand the smell and taste. BTW, I took this pic yesterday before throwing this stale food in garbage.

6/1/24: three weeks late posting this but the experience still resonates. It was wonderful: the food, the service, the drinks, all of it. We will definitely hit up Flavors of India again. That was the short version. The longer version is this: this particular Saturday we arrived about 10 minutes before opening. As we waited, two people walked in (staff), then a couple drove up. As they passed us, the woman asked us how many & said she'd set the table up for us. A few minutes later, a staff member popped out the door & told us the table was ready. CAUTION: it is a small restaurant. I counted 12 seats, all two-seater tables. This would explain the high traffic for take out - a lot of people came & went. Also, yes, you do have to order a side of rice (it does not come with the meal). No lie, everything we ate was superb. The dream started with their mango lassi and ended with the rice pudding. In between those delicious dishes, there was a mixed bread basket (it was huge! -- and I would go back just for the naan); some vegetable samosas, a plate of paneer pakora; the meals were a lamb dish and the chicken korma; the finale was mango pudding, as well as the rice pudding. Because of all the appetizers and the amount of food for the entree, I had chicken korma for lunch for four days. It is a lot of food, well worth the price. The decor was cool to look at and the service was fast, as well as super friendly. The 25 mile, 40 minute drive was well worth it, and will gladly be driven again.

Absolutely the Best Indian Food I’ve Ever Had! If you’re looking for incredible Indian cuisine, Flavors of India is the place to be! This was hands-down the best Indian food I’ve ever tried, every dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavors that kept us coming back for more. Beyond the amazing food, the experience was just as wonderful. The owners are incredibly kind, and the staff is beyond friendly, making us feel genuinely welcomed and attended to throughout our meal. The service was warm and attentive, which made the entire dining experience even more special. If you love Indian food (or even if you’ve never tried it before), do yourself a favor and visit Flavors of India! You won’t regret it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We ordered in from Flavors of India through Door Dash the other night and we really liked it! I'm very picky about my Indian food...having grown up in NYC and having some of the best Indian food in this country, I have pretty high standards. That said, now that I'm much older, I have stomach issues so I have to be very careful not to eat anything too spicy which, if eating Indian food, is difficult. That said, we placed our order....Chicken Korma for me, Tandoori Chicken for my husband, veggie pakoras, basmati rice and garlic naan. The food arrived quickly and was very hot upon arrival. The food also came with some little containers of cilantro chutney and tamarind sauce which I was glad to see, and some complementary papadums. smiles I was nervous to try my chicken korma, afraid it would be too spicy for me to eat...I did note when ordering that I needed it to be not spicy and in most Indian restaurants they don't usually either read this or abide by it, but I was absolutely thrilled that Flavors of India read and respected my preferences! The chicken korma was deliciously tasty, has a wonderful rich sauce but it wasn't spicy so for once I was able to eat and really enjoy my meal! My husband likes his food spicy and ordered his tandoori chicken medium spiced. It arrived with six of the largest chicken legs we'd ever seen, as well as onions and peppers. My husband lives to eat spicy and usually nothing phases him, but the medium spice was a little too spicy for him, but once he got used to it it was fine. He couldn't stop raving about his dinner, which he never does. He's one of those men who'll eat anything and he's never been a huge fan of Indian food, but honestly, he couldn't stop raving about how good it was! We also had the veggie pakoras, which to me, were a little disappointing. I'm used to a more shredded type of pakora, almost like hash browns texture and these were more ground up and mushy. Not very tasty either, so I wasn't a fan of these unfortunately. The garlic naan was also "different" in that it tasted like it had oregano on it instead of parsley and it wasn't very garlicky. However, the bread was still good and when dipped in the korma sauce it was delicious. We really enjoyed our meal which we had two days ago and when we went to order from Door Dash again tonight the first thing my husband said was "do you want to order from that Indian place again?" lol So you know it's good! We'll definitely be back and looking forward to more yummy food here. Thank you also, Flavors of India, for reading the entire order and for not making my food spicy! You won me over...

I have to say I’m a bit heartbroken that this place’s customer service went down the drain. The older auntie who is the owner was so rude to me on the phone tonight. First she answered the phone and made me hold and I could hear her apologizing to another person, and then when she picked up the phone she sounded so aggravated with me. I asked for Curry and two basmati rice orders and she was just rude and condescending to me. I was honestly shocked because I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and when they were in Phoenix. But my loyalty to them died today. I traveled 40 miles one way to get their food and 40 mins back home. It’s a long drive but I felt like I was connected to them in some way since I’m a return customer and I don’t ever order Indian food from anywhere else. I hate to change my star from 5 all the way down to 1 star but it has to be done. I’m saddened on how she was talking to me, and how rude she was to me over the phone. I honestly wanted to say “hey it’s me” but I was just shocked and didn’t know what to say. The only think I could think about saying was I’m sorry but you’re being very rude to me right now so I’m sorry I won’t be placing an order tonight. I was hurt!!! Like over 20 years of loyalty and they treated me like I was an inconvenience to them for calling and ordering. I get that you have bad days and that’s okay, but I’m sorry I can’t be mad along with you and then eat. She made me lose my appetite. I’m just shocked and hurt. I guess I have to find somewhere else to give my business too because tonight they lost a customer of over 20 years. 20 years!!! And they treated me so rude over the phone. I’m shocked. Ironically, tonight there is a huge full moon too.

PRIOR below:

Traveled all the way from north Phoenix for this delicacy. I used to live right next to Flavors of India when they were in central Phoenix.

I wish many blessings on this family. They never disappoint. Just the smell of the food brought back so many harmonious memories.

I’ll...

I'd consider myself very experienced in Indian cuisine, so my review would be based on my experiences in US-based Indian restaurants, not as if I was coming from a specific region in India.

Flavors of India's menu is stacked with the usual favorites, tandori chicken, chicken curry, lamb vindaloo, veg dishes like aloo gobi and saag paneer. Noticeably missing are any dishes from the South of India such as Dosa, Rasam, etc. For me, it's not a problem since I love all regions' food, but if you're looking for something from the Southern regions, it's not going to be an option here.

I met the owners and they are a wonderful Punjabi family that have recently moved their location from North Phoenix to Gilbert when their lease ran out. This is probably the most Southeast location for Indian Food that there is. There may be some in Mesa, but this is the closest to Queen Creek that I could find.

The restaurant itself has only about 6 tables inside and does a fair amount of take-out business. The staff was friendly and courteous and checked on me numerous times during my meal without being intrusive.

I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and the Chicken Korma with plan Naan. I couldn't decide which dish I liked more, they were both different. They both had a decent amount of protein and the gravy was thick and flavorful. I ordered a 5 on the spice scale and I felt is was just right. If you're sensitive to spicy, then order lower. Level 5 was perfect for me.

One thing I noticed about the Korma is that I could really taste the creaminess of the cashew nuts. It was such a great respite from the coconut milk of so many other curries. The lamb from the Vindaloo was so tender it was unreal. No heavy lanolin taste from the lamb.

I'll be back for sure. Stay tuned for the update :)

Next time I visit I will order the Aloo Gobi and the Chana Masala and...
