We ordered in from Flavors of India through Door Dash the other night and we really liked it! I'm very picky about my Indian food...having grown up in NYC and having some of the best Indian food in this country, I have pretty high standards. That said, now that I'm much older, I have stomach issues so I have to be very careful not to eat anything too spicy which, if eating Indian food, is difficult. That said, we placed our order....Chicken Korma for me, Tandoori Chicken for my husband, veggie pakoras, basmati rice and garlic naan. The food arrived quickly and was very hot upon arrival. The food also came with some little containers of cilantro chutney and tamarind sauce which I was glad to see, and some complementary papadums. smiles I was nervous to try my chicken korma, afraid it would be too spicy for me to eat...I did note when ordering that I needed it to be not spicy and in most Indian restaurants they don't usually either read this or abide by it, but I was absolutely thrilled that Flavors of India read and respected my preferences! The chicken korma was deliciously tasty, has a wonderful rich sauce but it wasn't spicy so for once I was able to eat and really enjoy my meal! My husband likes his food spicy and ordered his tandoori chicken medium spiced. It arrived with six of the largest chicken legs we'd ever seen, as well as onions and peppers. My husband lives to eat spicy and usually nothing phases him, but the medium spice was a little too spicy for him, but once he got used to it it was fine. He couldn't stop raving about his dinner, which he never does. He's one of those men who'll eat anything and he's never been a huge fan of Indian food, but honestly, he couldn't stop raving about how good it was! We also had the veggie pakoras, which to me, were a little disappointing. I'm used to a more shredded type of pakora, almost like hash browns texture and these were more ground up and mushy. Not very tasty either, so I wasn't a fan of these unfortunately. The garlic naan was also "different" in that it tasted like it had oregano on it instead of parsley and it wasn't very garlicky. However, the bread was still good and when dipped in the korma sauce it was delicious. We really enjoyed our meal which we had two days ago and when we went to order from Door Dash again tonight the first thing my husband said was "do you want to order from that Indian place again?" lol So you know it's good! We'll definitely be back and looking forward to more yummy food here. Thank you also, Flavors of India, for reading the entire order and for not making my food spicy! You won me over...
Read moreI have to say I’m a bit heartbroken that this place’s customer service went down the drain. The older auntie who is the owner was so rude to me on the phone tonight. First she answered the phone and made me hold and I could hear her apologizing to another person, and then when she picked up the phone she sounded so aggravated with me. I asked for Curry and two basmati rice orders and she was just rude and condescending to me. I was honestly shocked because I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and when they were in Phoenix. But my loyalty to them died today. I traveled 40 miles one way to get their food and 40 mins back home. It’s a long drive but I felt like I was connected to them in some way since I’m a return customer and I don’t ever order Indian food from anywhere else. I hate to change my star from 5 all the way down to 1 star but it has to be done. I’m saddened on how she was talking to me, and how rude she was to me over the phone. I honestly wanted to say “hey it’s me” but I was just shocked and didn’t know what to say. The only think I could think about saying was I’m sorry but you’re being very rude to me right now so I’m sorry I won’t be placing an order tonight. I was hurt!!! Like over 20 years of loyalty and they treated me like I was an inconvenience to them for calling and ordering. I get that you have bad days and that’s okay, but I’m sorry I can’t be mad along with you and then eat. She made me lose my appetite. I’m just shocked and hurt. I guess I have to find somewhere else to give my business too because tonight they lost a customer of over 20 years. 20 years!!! And they treated me so rude over the phone. I’m shocked. Ironically, tonight there is a huge full moon too.

Traveled all the way from north Phoenix for this delicacy. I used to live right next to Flavors of India when they were in central Phoenix.
I wish many blessings on this family. They never disappoint. Just the smell of the food brought back so many harmonious memories.

Read moreI'd consider myself very experienced in Indian cuisine, so my review would be based on my experiences in US-based Indian restaurants, not as if I was coming from a specific region in India.
Flavors of India's menu is stacked with the usual favorites, tandori chicken, chicken curry, lamb vindaloo, veg dishes like aloo gobi and saag paneer. Noticeably missing are any dishes from the South of India such as Dosa, Rasam, etc. For me, it's not a problem since I love all regions' food, but if you're looking for something from the Southern regions, it's not going to be an option here.
I met the owners and they are a wonderful Punjabi family that have recently moved their location from North Phoenix to Gilbert when their lease ran out. This is probably the most Southeast location for Indian Food that there is. There may be some in Mesa, but this is the closest to Queen Creek that I could find.
The restaurant itself has only about 6 tables inside and does a fair amount of take-out business. The staff was friendly and courteous and checked on me numerous times during my meal without being intrusive.
I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and the Chicken Korma with plan Naan. I couldn't decide which dish I liked more, they were both different. They both had a decent amount of protein and the gravy was thick and flavorful. I ordered a 5 on the spice scale and I felt is was just right. If you're sensitive to spicy, then order lower. Level 5 was perfect for me.
One thing I noticed about the Korma is that I could really taste the creaminess of the cashew nuts. It was such a great respite from the coconut milk of so many other curries. The lamb from the Vindaloo was so tender it was unreal. No heavy lanolin taste from the lamb.
I'll be back for sure. Stay tuned for the update :)
Next time I visit I will order the Aloo Gobi and the Chana Masala and...
