I set an appointment to go look at tesla on Thursday 5/9 to go see the car on Saturday 5/11. I got there at 10:07 and asked for my salesman Cruz. The guy who greeted us was very friendly, asked us if we wanted anything to drink or a snack...I was very impressed at first. Them my sales guy Cruz comes up amd greets me. Very pleasant young man with the usual car salesman charisma. He proceeds to tell me that someone else is looking at the Tesla amd it'd be a minute. I was so confused, why would you book an appointment for me to drive 33 minutes to see a tesla then tell me I have to wait becasue someone else is looking at it. He goes and talks to his manager as rather upset at this point. He comes back and says the other guy had an appointment at 10 and mine was at 10:30 them asks me if I want to look at another tesla. NO, I want to see the tesla I set am appointment for. Mind you they texted me on friday to make sure I was still coming in and them again on Saturday morning at 9 am to tell me that they would have the car pulled up amd ready for me to test drive. I feel like this was the poorest business practice and customer service ever. Then to top it off, Cruz leads me to a seat to wait til they get back from the test drive. Goes out to get the keys so I can test drive it. Amd I say "well is the other guy applying for the car or not? I don't want to test drive for. Vehicle then sit here and compete with another buyer all day." He runs back to check and shares that the other guy wants it but he's asking for more than what we are willing ti give for his trade in so we are seeing. WHAT??!!! So you want me to test drive this tesla still as the dude is applying for it amd see if maybe you can swindle me into another car. Thanks but no thanks. Highly recommend other dealerships folks, this was a beyond horrible exprmerince and waste of time. Shame on them for setting up two appointments same day 30 minutes apart and that's if that' was actually true. I feel like this guy showed up amd they were so eager for a sale and started the...
Read moreIt was overall I had a great experience, and never felt experience pressure to buy the experience of the fact that the new CRVs sell quickly, besides that Sean Day and Jeff, I apologize I forget his last name Were very good, and the information from the moment called about inventory to driving off the lot. The only thing they were pushy about was the warranty when I said I could get it cheaper from an authorized online seller. They said it wasn't legal when in fact it is (see succacci Handa, it's about $1500 cheaper for the same product because they sell it at a break-even price). But they did knock down the price a bit for the warranty and didn't charge for the wheel locks and all-weather mats.
edit from above: I emailed Honda directly and Succucci Honda is an authorized online seller of the Honda Care extended warranty, the same thing you can buy from the dealer but cheaper, so save the money on that and buy through succucci or buy the dealership offer separately so you’re not paying interest on it when it lumped in the finance price because you can get a refund on it should you decide later to go through succucci, but if you finance, the refund will go to loan and not cash to you, if you buy it separately, the refund should go directly to you.
(The only other thing was I never saw a Costco pricing sheet which I was told by Costco id see, so I don't know if I got the true Costco price so be sure you see it and are dealing with a Costso-trained person as I don't think he was because he wasn't on the long of people Costco listed although who knows when that list from Costco was updated. *edit below)
So the car I got, the 2023 crv hybrid was not in the Costco program due to high demand, so that explains the lack of a Costco pricing sheet. All that being said if you're not a Costco member, or planning on buying through Costco the last part of the review won’t...
Read moreDay 1 was disappointing because the sales tactics were very old school that customers hate about dealerships. The final price given was about $8000-9000 over price on the window being told there were add-ons that don't show on the window sticker. The 1st salesperson could not make any decisions and every time I had a counter offer they would disappear for about 10-15 mins. I asked right off if she could just bring the person she's talking to into our discussion things would go much quicker. No such luck. After about 3 times with back and forth offers I just got up and left out of frustration that the salesperson could not make decisions. 5 days later I offered asking price over the phone and offered to do all the DMV paperwork myself. The manager wouldn't budge saying it's their policy to do the paperwork. I told him I was aware they were pocketing another $215 "transaction fee" by insisting they do the paperwork. DMV will tell you you can do all the transaction paperwork yourself. I've done this process with a prior car purchase from a dealer and it's very easy to do yourself. I agreed to the purchase because the car was below bluebook. Closing on day 6 with Zach was good. I did have to finish paperwork with the finance guy even though I was paying cash but there's no way around this with dealers. Once all the denials were autographed for additional warranties I was out of there. Opps, had to return as they forgot a form that needed signing and the temp. trip permit didn't make it to the vehicle. My suggestion for improvement would be to dump the policy of the salesperson not being able to bring in the decision maker on negotiations. I have purchased new cars in the last 10 years where I negotiated directly with a person who could make decisions and did not...
