We were deeply disappointed and hurt by the way my family was treated at the Glendale Heights pool. I had dropped off my children and elderly mother, who were all wearing modest swimwear specifically designed for swimming and aligned with our religious beliefs. Their swimwear was appropriate, safe, and fully swim-approved. Before leaving for work, I stayed with them for about 30 minutes to make sure they were settled in and had begun swimming. During that time, no staff member raised any concerns about their swimwear. Everything seemed fine. However, shortly after I left, my son called me in distress and told me they had been asked to leave the pool immediately. While I was on my way back from work to pick them up, they were forced to leave the facility entirely in 95°F (35°C) weather. They were not allowed to wait under an umbrella or in the shade, but were made to stand outside in the heat. This was especially difficult for my elderly mother. Not only were they humiliated and excluded because of their modest swimwear, but this entire experience felt like a clear case of religious discrimination. It is heartbreaking that such exclusion and lack of respect could happen in a diverse and supposedly inclusive community like...
Read moreUpdate 2017: is hard to believe that since last year they had a wasp problem (more like INVASION!) in the sand box and volley ball area and theyve done NOTHING about it. Isn't a year enough to exterminate them? There are kids that are extremely allergic! This year they didnt even bother to put up a sign letting people know its LITERALLY invated by wasps! I really enjoy coming, but it really sucks that they havent fixed that issue.
2016: When i dont feel like traveling far this is the perfect place to take my small kids. They have a lot of lifeguards which makes you feel very safe, especially if you have small kids. I like that they close later than other places in the area, and the resident's cover price is very reasonable ($6 per person/$12 non resident). Its a fun place for old and young, all the times Ive been here it has never been super packed, which makes it very comfortable because you dont have to wait forever to get on the slides or any of their other attractions.
On my recent visit, what i didnt like was that we werent able to go on the sand because of a wasps infestation. That seems unsafe to me and i think they should get professionals to get...
Read moreThis is more for adults than kids. Water is cold as hell. My kid can't go on any slides nothing with a swimming vest. I been here for 30 minutes and have heard 30 whistles from the life guards for every single thing. I'm annoyed that my water park is the very most strict water park there is. I have gone to resorts different water parks bensenvilles, bolingbrook etc waterparks and none are this strict and suck the fun out of being at a water park. My kid felt isolated and deserted from having fun and it's annoying that you hear whistles from the life guards constantly. I have seen three families leave for these reasons last and final time I come here. Thanks...
