Unity Ride Shop - BMX, Bikes, & Skateboards — Local services in Glendale

I recently visited Unity Ride Shop on 06/06/21 for some issues with my mountain bike wheels/hubs/axels/tires. I brought in my rear wheel/tire/hub/axel to Unity Ride Shop and was helped by Randy Hearn. Within a minute, Randy had completely diagnosed the many issues I was facing with my rear wheel/tire/hub/axel and had a recommended plan of action to fix everything including a new tire tube that was the correct size for my tire as I had the incorrect tire size in the tire. They also had all required parts/materials in-stock at their store ready to go along with their massive inventory of all things bicycle, skateboard, and more. I was so impressed and happy with Randy’s expertise and help, I told him that I wanted to go back to my house and take the front wheel/tire/hub/axel off to also bring in for them to service including new tubing with sealant to help with punctures. After I returned about thirty minutes later with the front wheel/tire/hub/axel, they made a new invoice to include a breakdown of all work required for both front & rear. They told me that it would be ready for pickup within one business day and that they would call me when it was ready. Unity Ride Shop called me the very next day (06/07/2021) in the afternoon to let me know that everything was repaired and it was ready to be picked up. I arrived back at Unity Ride Shop and they had both my wheels/tires/hubs/axels/tubes ready. Randy again explained and showed me the repairs they made which I was very pleased with. Randy also gave me a frequent customer punchcard for bike tire tube installation where your sixth is free. On top of paying my bill, I also left them a generous tip in their tip jar and thanked them again for their awesome service and told them that I would definitely be back for future services/repairs for my mountain bike. I put both repaired wheels/tires/hubs/axels back on my mountain bike when I got back home and took it out for my evening 12 mile bike ride around my neighborhood. The repairs that Unity Ride Shop did made a HUGE difference that I could feel immediately. When I went in the whole shop felt like a dungeon. The fact that I can not enter and exit freely is like a prison. When I went in I felt exactly like I did as a kid. I use to go into shops and like to look around and see things. Sure enough when I was old enough I got my first 2 checks and build up a whole bmx bike. What I’m trying to say is 1year later I went from the annoying kid at the shop to spending 1200$ with the shop. At this shop I wouldn’t bring my kids because I don’t feel this bike shop is a good dreaming environment. The staff is always in a rush. Supper rude and unfair. There was this younger gentleman who didn’t even work there that told me he was just a shop local and he welcomed me in showed me what I was looking for from the same side of the case as me. Didn’t catch his name but he was amazing. This gentleman who isn’t receiving anything from the shop is a better qualified person than the employees. It would be a far better shop if you staffed people like him who actually love being in there just to be in there. This shop has lost my respect and I will not...

Bought se quadangle, noticed some scratches and damage on cranks upon full inspection at home. Called back to advise but customer service rep sounded in denial like it was impossible for them to have did it, and was I basically told nothing they can't do anything for me. I didn't even bother into trying to argue with people like that so I'd rather speak up and maybe the next person can be more cautious with these people. They didn't even attempt to help in no type of way. I also asked help to load and secure bike and was denied and told that was not part of the job. I couldn't even get help on holding there own business door open as I took out 29" bike out there prison style locked doors. . 3rd and not least , the bike is all filthy. I also asked if bike was ever used because bike has a whole bunch of hand prints, white walls are all dirty an and looks like a dirty display bike. Rear of seat is all dirty like a mechanic put his dirty hands/paws on it with damage on cranks. I Don't think I would ever buy bike...
