Country Boys Restaurant — Restaurant in Phoenix

Used to be the go to spot for breakfast but apparently they hired new cooks that apparently lied on their resumes because they were messing up orders left and right. Under cooked potatoes, over cooked bacon, and any chef knows that over easy means yolky eggs not what we got though. I felt sorry for the server as the floodgates were broken when the other customers heard my complaints about my wife's meal not being edible without a ton of ketchup and pepper because she got riddled with 4 other tables agreeing with us. There were only six active tables and the one that didn't complain was only having coffee. But the icing on the cake for me was the fact that both cooks weren't wearing gloves when preparing the food and I watched as one grabbed 4 or 5 strips of bacon and set them on another customers plate bare handed then wiped his forehead and started cooking some more without washing his hands. When I told the waitress she said "I told him to put gloves on!" With a disappointed look and I was like "check please!" She comped my wife's meal that didn't get eaten but I still gave her a nice tip as it wasn't her fault these guys were not able to get it together in the kitchen. Going to avoid this spot for a while and give them time to hire new staff before I attempt to get any food from there. Which is sad because we usually have a great experience and have even recommended this place to family and friends...

This is a great restaurant. Wonderful waitresses and waiters that are very attentive, they refilled my coffee right away and took away trash right away. Lots of neat little advertisements for some great places that are part of the tabletops, the food is delicious and they have good portions. It's an older place so not in tip top shape but it is clean and it has a warm atmosphere. It is decently priced as well. I ordered the hamburger and eggs dish with an extra egg, extra crispy hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy are AMAZING and the hash browns were cooked perfectly. I was a little saddened because I asked for medium well eggs with runny yolks and cooked whites because I love mixing the yolk with the hamburger but my yolks were mostly cooked and some of the whites were still raw, but I think that might have been more of a grill heating issue and it was still delicious regardless. My friend got one of the breakfast sandwiches and it was perfect and she ordered her young daughter the chicken tenders and fries from the kids menu, which were also delicious (tried them hehe). We go to this country boys once a week for a family breakfast and the food is always great and the service is usually quite good. But this morning when we went we received the worst service I have ever had. We used the buy one get one free breakfast coupon THEY gave to us the last time we went, and as soon as we handed it to our server her costumer service went right out the window. She dropped off the food and the bill at the same time, and then never came back. She was taking care of all of her other tables but seemed like she was intentionally ignoring us. I eventually had to leave my table and ask a different server for pancake syrup. She finally checked back with us about 10 minutes after and finally brought me a water and refilled my wife's. Our server took our payment from the table all the other times we've dined here, but this time she stayed up at the front talking with seemingly no intention of coming back and we were sitting there obviously finished and waiting for her to take our card. We walked to the front and paid and for the first time ever did not tip well. I work at a restaurant downtown I know Good service and this definitely was not.
