Don't recommend buying your groceries here, and the cashiers need to be better trained on how to treat customers (particularly the tall lanky one who wears her COVID mask on all the time). Most are nice, but should learn from Publix's playbook about how to treat their customers, and in general all humans, with professionalism and respect.
I was walking to the cashier section, specifically the Express Line. There were four I saw open at the time, some with a few customers. I soon moved from the Express line to the next aisle over since the Express line was longer than I originally saw, and the other aisle light was 'On' and open. After I moved to the second cashier, and within 3 feet from my face, yells, "SIR! YOU CAN GO TO LINE 5 AS SHE'S OPEN" (there's only one person ahead of me at the time). I replied, "Really? I can't see anyone over there from the front of the line aisles (the line 5 lady cashier was really short)." Multiple managers were there, not saying or doing anything about the brass woman's attitude, just chatting to one another and not getting anything done (there wasn't much traffic at the front of the store).
Look, I understand people have a bad day at work (though she was yelling to people when I was entering Food Lion). However, I didn't expect to be approached by some CRASS and WRATCHED attitude girl like I would off of Moncrief Road in Jacksonville, FL. Her attitude was over level 9,000 ghetto.
Food Lion should study it's competitors like Publix, learning a thing or two about customer service and treating people with professionalism. I'll be going elsewhere to buy...
Read moreI don’t even know how to start this. But here we go, this foodlion has the worst customer service I had an interaction with almost everyone in that store. The worst one I would say is Donna super rude disrespectful and racist. The first time I had a transaction with her she checking my things out she didn’t acknowledge that I was standing there didn’t even greet me I said good morning and she didn’t reply back and she started to talk to the next customer while she is checking my things out she ringed one of my items twice and I asked her nicely if she can go back and check she rolled her Eyes and stated “where I don’t see it” and argued with me that I’m wrong and I have a problem with the pricing I told her I see you rang it twice she wasn’t paying attention and when she looked deeper into her screen she seen it and was super rude about it didn’t apologise and blamed me. The next time I was in there I tried to avoid her but she was the only register open I had no choice didn’t greet me was super rude to me again and when I asked about the doughnuts if they were buy one free instead of answering again she was rude and stated you always have a problem with the pricing and whatever I don’t care. I’m telling you the worst worst customer service. Someone has to do something with her a coaching a class on customer services. All employees work there have really bad customer services. Even the quality of the fresh fruits are rotten and not fresh nothing ever stocked right and they don’t have the sale prices correct. Overall experience there is the worst if I can give it zero...
Read moreEdited: Unfortunately I had an interaction with a new manger 10/20/2023 around 9:30 pm when my sister and I were harassed by a female manger threatening to not sell us alcohol because we look young. I'm 24 my sister 21 and my boyfriend 26 were yelled at from across the isle that we would be ID checked at check out while we were shopping for wine. Our roommate drove us because we already had some drinks that night and was waiting in the car for us. This manager claimed she would refuse to sell to us the next time we come in the store based on her personal power trip. There is no law or store policy that says every person in our vehicle must be 21 for us to purchase alcohol. When we questioned why she was yelling this at us, she simply states she can refuse to sell to us. Even the cashier, a sweet older lady whom I see everytime I come in, was visibly uncomfortable. At no point did our roommate even touch alcohol she simply walked us in then said she wanted to wait for us in the car since we needed to get some other grocery items and she wanted to call her boyfriend. Either way, we do not need to explain ourselves. Horrible experience being harassed by a manger because of our appearance is ridiculous and uncalled for! We were clearly targeted, discriminated against and harassed on a Friday night in our local grocery store we go to constantly. This store needs to seriously consider who they hire to manage.
