I am giving 3 stars because this was before a major holiday and perhaps they just cannot keep up. It should be more like 2 stars.
Came here to find a Kosher desert, at a Kosher market. They had a big sign saying the deserts are not Kosher. That seems unreasonable.
The store has potential but is poorly executed. This place is a mess. Literally. Like management just couldn't care less about the appearance. The very first thing you see is a bench in desperate need of paint. Walked in and literally tripped on a roll of packing tape that was on the ground. There are boxes EVERYWHERE on the ground. Trash. New inventory. Old items. Carts full of items. It feels like I was in the back room of a store where you aren't supposed to be. It reminds me of someones hoarder aunts house, crap everywhere. Most of the drink coolers are empty. the signage is inconsistent. Items have no pricing.
I can see they spent some money on the build out of the store and there are some nice fixtures and displays. The rest of the store is a mix of things. The lighting is not all the same color and they clash.
The independent vendor concept where there are multiple counters is interesting but also hard to understand. The sandwich counter is abandoned and you need to go to the deli it says. The bagel place had no bagels (it was evening) There is a lot of food just loose and exposed, on trays. It feels like you are on the wrong side of the counter. Signs everywhere say to Pay first?? in the middle the store..
The pizza looked nice, I guess this is an independent pizza place? They also had a back room full of crap. The prices were not great. In fact the whole store is expensive, which is to be expected for some items but not general grocery things. There were people rolling sushi which i find bizarre at a Kosher market but why not.
There were also kids EVERYWHERE. I realize this isn't the stores fault necessarily but it just adds to the overall chaos. Kids, trash, random things. This store is not for me.
I know there are not many Kosher markets and this is a large one. Perhaps too large for them to handle as this is a former Publix. It sure doesn't look like one though. I recommend they step back and evaluate what is going on. They can do...
Read moreOpening day was a little crazy!!! The line to get in stretched quite a distance.....but the long long long wait for this place to finally open up was worth it. This place is HUGE!!!!! The staff is very very friendly and already quite knowledgeable. The pricing seems in line with the other kosher supermarkets in South Florida. My friend, a wine expert said the extensive wine selection was priced competitively. The bakery had the largest display of the most amazing looking items that I have ever seen. The Ike's bagel store within the store will probably be my new hangout. They were still setting up the tables and chairs while I was in the store in food court dining room in the back of the store where you be able to bring your breakfast special or other items from their large menu to enjoy and shmooze with your friends and family. You will also be able to enjoy your freshly prepared sushi and your hot Mizrachi Pizza in the food court dining room. I am ashamed to tell you how many slices of the delicious white pie I woofed down when arrived home! That good!!! That brings me to the takeout department which had the biggest selection I have ever seen anywhere. The counter was so crowded I couldn't get a clear view of many dishes, but since I am a schnitzel maven, I checked out the many many varieties of schnitzel, and they all looked amazing. Next I checked out the meat department and was impressed at the quality and selection, compared to some of the other stores. The fruits and veggies were all such top quality that they put Publix to shame. Finally, I checked out the refrigerator section, and the variety of items was extensive. I never got to the freezer cases or got to go up and down the aisles, so I will update my review the next time I go to the store. THANK YOU YUSSI FOR PUTTING BOYNTON BEACH ON THE...
Read more09/01/24 Update: I tried the Israeli bobka(baked fresh daily). You have to try it!
The funny thing is I was debating back and forth. Should I put it in my review or not. My thinking.....there is a limited number of Israeli bobkas and If I put it in my review they might sell out and there won't be any left for me.
Original review: I would rate this place 4 and 1/2 Stars. This place is a very large kosher market. I am guessing that it is about three times the size of Glicks(Delray) on Atlantic. It has a large variety of anything kosher you would want. As with any other kosher market prices are a bit high, but even the regular grocery stores are high now. Employees seem friendly enough. Tons of parking. The sourdough ciabatta rolls are a little expensive but they are very good ($6.99 for 4 of them)
Even though I rated it five stars, there are many things that they can improve on: The doors on the left side do not open. The other door has a bunch of carts that are partially blocking the entrance. Sounds like a safety issue to me. Many of the bread items do not have prices on them. The bakery/dessert area has a good variety of items but again no prices on any of the items. There are also other items in the refrigerated sections that did not...
