United States Postal Service — Local services in Granby

Worst Post Office I've seen in 50 years. No garbage cans (someone peed in one more than a year ago, so they removed all cans in the lobby), outside landscaping is severely neglected, burned out lobby lighting not replaced for several months. They post signs saying if you discard mail anywhere in the lobby it will be returned to your PO Box ( yes they have the time and manpower to rebox DISCARDED mail but not to place and remove garbage cans during business hours, huh?) Seems the postmaster just has a bad attitude about customer service, returning mail, etc. Read the numerous bad reviews. I'm an ex postal service worker and I find this branch just horrendous.

Update 27 October: lighting still inadequate see picture. Looks brighter than it is, 3 of 4 bulbs burnt out.

Update November 1st, correction, only 2 bulbs in that fixture, however one is completely burnt out and the other is useless, see the picture. Sad☹️

Update November 30 2021 Well this post office continues to go downhill. The lights are now completely burnt out. The garbage can in the main office was overflowing and the floors throughout the lobby were disgusting at 8:30 in the morning. Can't wait for the Christmas rush, what an embarrassment to Granby.

Update December 9, 2021 They've about hit the bottom. No light in my section of boxes and they have REMOVED ALL GARBAGE CANS, no container even in the counter area during business hours. Please try to understand customer service

Update December 29, 2021 Nothing different, no lights, no garbage but enough salt to melt the concrete. Embarrassment for Granby

Update January 5 2022 Well just when I thought they hit bottom, I see a second box cubby now is dark (no lights) when does it become a safety issue, when all the lights are out in the lobby? Too bad there's isn't NEGATIVE rating numbers.

Update January 11 2022 All PO Box cubbies are now unlighted, bulbs starting to go dark in the main lobby as well

Update January 15, 2022 Miracles do happen, FINALLY have all the lights on,only took 3 months, maybe there was a LIGHT BULB SHORTAGE 🤪

Update March 13, 2022 Some lights are not working again and the floors are disgusting. I know staff shortage but what about public perception, how long does it take to mop a floor?

Update March 24, 2022 My PO Box cubby has both lights out again, lighting lasted about 60 days. Good thing we have longer daylight for awhile. Just really sad that the postal service has sunk this low 8(

Update August 3, 2022 Closed the box today, much better service in HSS, and it's free. Stopped to turn in my keys and was informed by the clerk that because we already put in a change of address (online about 2 weeks ago) we couldn't get our key deposit back. HUH ??? NOWHERE WAS THAT STATED ONLINE NOR DOES IT MAKE SENSE. Put in the change of address before to insure all was good before returning keys. The USPS strikes...

I’ve never had so many packages go missing before. Good luck trying to pick up any of your packages even if you show the employees the tracking info saying from USPS, UPS and FedEx that the package was delivered. When I try to contact companies I’m purchasing from, they say they can’t refund me because everything shows as delivered. Yet somehow the post office never has it. So you will lose countless packages and all the money it cost you to purchase whatever you had shipped here. Brenda is also consistently rude to everyone. I’ve seen her get in countless fights with customers who are just trying to find their packages. Unprofessional and very suspicious that a minimum of 20% of my packages never get to me despite tracking saying delivered. They’ve also put the package slips in my mailbox and told me in the same day that I don’t actually have a package? This post office is where common sense and common...

Camping in area; had Amazon package status stating pick up at USPS location. Once arrived I was told that since I don't have a PO box the package was immedietly returned. I then asked why the tracking didnt state that it left the USPS location and returned. The postal worked stated she just returned the package and that is why.

Another postal worker came around the corner and asked where I was camping. She informed me that since the campsite location has a PO Box, they picked up my package and it is at the welcome center. Confused as to why the package status didn't say delivered and postal work stated it was because she scans a "big sheet" and not the individual packages.

When leaving I mentioned that the first postal work I spoke too should have informed me of this and I was told she didn't know because I was...
