First, I'd like to say that one of the owners, Erik - is MORE than accommodating, even though he had a broken leg and was hobbling around. He was cordial, friendly and pleasant each time we spoke to him. He responded to our request for extra pillows and even delivered them to our room. We didn't get to meet the other owner - Mike. |||| We arrived during a heatwave and were unaware that the room had no A/C. (We were in Room 11) I guess we assumed that the room would have A/C given the room rate. Our error - we should have asked when we made our reservations. Erik was kind enough to provide a brand new portable fan for us as well.||||The rooms are older but impeccably clean, except for the shower curtain which had a brown ring around the bottom of it. (Easily removed with Spray 'n Wash and a run through the washing machine.) The toilet ran all night, so we had to remove the tank lid to re-seat the flapper each time we flushed., again, an easy fix.||||But, there are quite a few positives as well. The lodge offers a microwave and fridge, single cup coffee maker & coffee, wi fi, flat screen TV, a small booth like table/bench in the room, outdoor picnic tables, window fan and paper towels ! There is also a paved parking lot and parking right outside your door - a bonus for motorcycle riders like ourselves. ||||I did have a concern about some of the other guests who appeared to be workmen or maybe drifters. They roamed the parking lot until later in the evening and one even decided to relieve himself out behind the free standing building on site - until his cohort reminded him that he had indoor plumbing and should probably use it. ||||On our second day, a drug addled girl approached my husband asking him if he "wanted to have some fun". I guess I just didn't expect that in Granby, CO. Again - my naivete.||||In spite of the owner's best efforts and the charming, quaint appearance of this motel, I don't think I will stay here again. Others may not be as...
Read moreWhere do I start? It's right beside the road and tracks, so all you hear is traffic, we heard the train 3 times last night. The walls are very thin, people literally talk all morning, you can hear the fridge opening and them walking around. I heard a sweeper at 8:05 am, dogs barking at 8:34 am. The bathroom door does not stay shut, toilet paper is so thin. The guy said a queen bed, it's a full. The bed is extremely hard, the pillow is so flat there can't be any fluff. The whole bed shakes violently when you get in and move. The blanket is thin. The room was hot, and there was lots of mosquitoes, we killed three, there was more. Microwave has a strong popcorn smell so it couldn't have been cleaned. The shower is really small, and the water hits your waist, maybe chest so you have to duck to clean your head. The room is from 1950. The towels are thin and scratchy.. the floor is so hard it hurts my knees. Not worth the price of 115. This place is slightly better than sleeping in the car. Will...
Read moreCustomer beware! We booked 2 rooms months ago and received an email confirmation for our reservation. When we got there the office was closed with a sign that said they would be back later. There was a phone number so I called it. A guy answered phone and said they were at dinner and would be back in 2 hours! We insisted they come and check us in. He hung up but about 5 minutes later a lady roars into the driveway. She made a snide comment about “can’t a person eat dinner?” I said not when it’s 4 pm and you have customers checking in! Someone should be there! She looked us up and they booked us in their “sister motel”, Homestead Inn. We drove there and it was a DIVE! Old worn out dirty rooms they smelled terribly! We of course didn’t stay there and went to a Holiday Inn Express up the road that was very comfortable and clean! I would NEVER recommend this motel. TERRIBLE customer service and...
