Grand blanc lanes is 1 of 2 bowling alleys in grand blanc, both owned by the same owner. Only this alley is fare more neglected by the owner than the other in Grand Blanc. All of the staff here is extremely friendly, and is deficated to working at a bowling alley, I cant say the same about the staff at the other Alley (Galaxy Lanes) Their is a back alley called the annex but i believe that they don't use any of the lanes back there anymore, the lanes were destroyed anyway so its more of a blessing thet they dont put oeople on those lanes anymore. the biggest issue is the equipment. yesterday I started on lane 41 and the ball return would jam almost every throw, i moved to lane 27 and it had issues where the computer would stop keeping score. Food is suprisingly good for an alley. This alley is home to me, I refuse to go to galaxy because of the worker mentality. The biggest downfall is the heavily outdated equipment that never seems to work right anymore. If the owner put some money into this alley it would be a really great place to throw, but he's probably not going to anytime soon. Sometimes youll get lucky and youll get placed on a lane that functions flawlessly, but that occourence just gets more rare as the old lane equipment continues to get older. Dont be mad at the workers if the lanes have issues, they deal with these problems everyday and are well aware that the equipment is on deaths door. And the workers are a main reason this isnt a 2 star review, if this was just a review on the equipment it would be. But overall its a good place to go bowling in a casual or...
Read moreI took 9 kids to GBL last night at 8 for open bowl(my son turned 11) we were placed in annex due to bowling tournaments. Upon arrival kids were stopped by a woman stating they couldnt come in due to leagues 😮I told her we were just paying for open bowl in annex then going around. Asked her if annex had a cashier there or did I pay upfront then go around. She wasn't sure told me to send a kid to ask since I was moving slow due to sprained ankle. We were set up and bowling kids were enjoying the 2 lanes. Then noticed the music being played over sound system. Let me tell you that public places (family) don't play music lyrics like being played. Every CUSS word imagined was repeatedly said. It was definitely a family moment. The bartender/cashier was asked who controlled music his response was he does trying to avoid ant CUSS words 😲 wth. After that we decided to end our experience a father went over spoke with bartender again. This resulted in an argument and bartender using his own foul language and threatening HELLS ANGELS on father. This will be an end to visiting this place. 35 years of bowling at GRAND BLANC LANES was rudely and embarrassingly ended by 2 people trying to listen to music that doesn't belong in a business that involves families or even young kids that were right down from us. I will be passing word along to other families of...
Read moreI’ve recently bowled in the state tournament which was held at grand blanc lanes. After 4 years of bowling in the state tournament this has to be by far the worst experience I have ever encountered. After bowling two games with my hyroad x I throw a strike. I get my ball back from the ball return and there was an absolute huge chunk missing from my ball. It was clearly mechanical damage. I then notified the owner of what happened and his response was my machines didn’t do that and and kept saying this was a manufacturer defect. The owner told me to continue to throw my ball and he could try to contact the pro shop employee after the tournament was done. There was no way I was going to throw my ball again with how bad the damage was to the ball so after bowling. The manager then told me to contact a storm rep and he can’t do nothing about it. Very unprofessional for the owner to not even acknowledge that his machines did this and was very rude. I would not recommend this bowling...
