When I moved in to my new place mid last year and had just dropped 2k on deposit and first months rent I was a bit strapped for cash. However, what made it even worse is that all of my furniture had been ruined in storage. I figured a quick fix would be to lease and then pay off within the 120 day pay off agreement some furniture from Aaron's here in Grand Forks (Fyi it is a franchise not a corporate store) I figured at least I would have something to sit on. I could have purchased on credit from a furniture store but because I have small children and NO FURNITURE I couldnt wait the weeks/months a furniture store would have taken to deliver new furniture to my home. So I caved and went to Aaron's. I got a living room set and was talked in to a T.V. as well. I was under the impression that the TV I would be "leasing" would be new. When it was delivered--- as in left on my living room floor--- I realized it was in fact used when I hooked it up. It had a small hole in the screen, the base and other parts of the T.V. were scratched ect. I called and complained that I thought I was getting a new TV not a used one, I also told them I knew it was used because of said wear and tear. My living room set pay off 120 day price was 1500$ About 30 days later I went into the store and made a 2000$ + payment and told them to pay off the furniture set and apply the rest to the television (which I was still only planning on leasing and returning) They said that they would do that. Well, about 2 months later the TV in question got a bleed on the screen. A rainbow appeared while I was watching it. I called Aaron's who came and picked it up and replaced it. It took 3 months for them to contact me again regarding the TV. They claimed that I had damaged it and that I would have to pay the entire price of the TV which was an RCA 50" LED50B45RQ 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV (let's be real here, it isn't even a 120hz tv) The MSRP on this T.V. is 550$ as stated on RCA's own site, but you can buy it online from Walmart for 360$. I told them that I did not break the TV and that it was in poor condition already when I received it which they were made aware of and that I was not going to pay and additional 650$ they claimed that I owed on it. Now here is where it get's interesting!!! Now because I wont pay a total of 1200$ for a DAMAGED USED POS, they are threatening to take my furniture saying I supposedly never payed it off. Guess what they did? They CHANGED what my 2k went toward in their system so that my furniture was 100$ under the payoff price and applied the rest to that TV. They claim their so called "regional manager" is the one that took my payment and that I told him to do it that way...Why would I come in with 2k AND NOT pay off that furniture? Who in their right mind would do that so that I end up owing interest on some furniture I bit the bullet to get in the first place? Because this store is a franchise and not a corporation-- corporate cannot see how they mess with their computer records or any payments/transactions that they do. BEWARE!!! Sit on your damn floor if you have to--- DO NOT EVER --- get ANYTHING from these scam...
Read moreHonestly, I was very disappointed. My wife and I went in on 12/31/2019 at 1128 for a bedroom set and a living room set. We told the lady that we were from a town not to far off and wanted to see if they delivered. They didn't not, ( which I expected ) but their sister store did. However that's not why I was disappointed, what really bothered me was as soon as she found out that they didn't deliver and we would have to go to a different store, the lady became cold, pushy, and all-around-rude. She wouldn't answer any questions, she made us feel rushed out of the store. Now, There were no other customers in the store, it wasn't even close to her lunchtime, however, as I said, the second she found out she wouldn't make money off helping us, we became "not worth her time". So if you're in for any type of renting or buying for your house/apartment, I would suggest you drive the extra miles to any other store then the Grand...
Read moreI'm a very good customer to aarons since 2017 And I have Made all of my payments on time and have paid off accounts in the past. I'm trying to furnish my Apartment and when I called to verify my items that I tried to purchase, The store manager informed me that I can not have my items until I pay off my ex wife's balance. I was never put on that account and had nothing to do with it. Aaron's lost one of their only paying customers. Do not go to the aarons in grand forks nd. They are horrible people and don't appreciate a good customer. This is very unprofessional of them to do this to a good customer. I've decided to pay cash at Walmart then give those crooks another dollar out of my pocket. The manager needs to be...
