Acme Tools — Local services in Grand Forks

11/26/2018 - Was told by the sales rep (at the Plymouth, MN store) over the phone that the online promotion of 18% off, up to a maximum of $50 off, probably should apply to the purchase of a Dewalt DWS780 mitre saw at $499.00 but that I should come in (since I was going to pick-up the unit) and talk with either Brett or Tim. I drove the 35+ miles one way and was told by Brett that He would not honor the $50 promo saying that the price as is was a good price. I did not purchase the saw from Acme as two other local retailers were selling the saw also at $499, and the first retailer I had asked about the additional $50 off said that they would honor the promo and the price. Spoke to Rudy Simondi from Acme but that discussion did not have any positive results either. I have purchased other products from Acme, but the Powermatic cabinet saw (approximately $3,800) that I was planning to purchase from them will be bought from some other saw retailer, not Acme. These guys aim for exceptional customer service! I started shopping here just over a year ago due to being a new home owner. I've purchased a lot of equipment from them and the service I have received has been more than what I was expecting. You will not get this kind of service in the big box stores!

Their service department is amazing when you buy new or refurbished equipment. They will spend time with you to make sure you are knowledgable about how everything works.

Reading through some of these 1 star reviews, they probably would have a change in heart if they just pick up the phone and ask for management. Over the past year there have been some mistakes made, which can be expected every once in a while, but not one of them went uncorrected. In fact, I've never even had to get management involved in any of them.

If you walk in during busy hours it may take a little time, because they take their time with other customers as well, but once someone does get to you, they make it their priority to make sure you get all your questions answered. Very professional crew! Absolutely love...

My online shopping experience with AcmeTools was very positive. Ordered a long bora straight edge with jig guide and some clamps. Order confirmation and shipping time was good. Unfortunately when the package arrived the straight edge had got bent during shipping. Expecting it was going to be the start of a big hassle I contacted the seller. They responded quickly (and friendly) and immediately sent out a replacement item and a pre-paid return label (they did not wait for me to return the bent item before sending a new one). The situation left me with a positive impression. Given their decent tool selection and pricing I would definitely use them again. My only suggestion to them would be on items that are awkward sized or could be easily damaged to do a better job wrapping and marking the box as "fragile" for...
