We went to Grand Forks SlumberLand after checking out the one in Thief River Falls. We walked in and were greeted within a timely manner. Asked where the recliners were, got pointed to the direction of them. The sales person barely left their podium. Not brought there as it should have been. After walking around and finding outrageous triple prices almost as we seen cheaper prices with another store. We found a power reclining couch and recliner. I wasn't quite sold on the couch. The salesman finally came over about 20 minutes later. After thinking maybe about these pieces for the price, I figured let's go look at another store and we were were grabbing our kids. I noticed a bargain clearance area. Decided to check it out. I ended up finding a power recliner and a power lift chair. The salesman came in again about 15 minutes. This was in clearance because it was returned so they knocked it down real low. Hubby still wanted to look around, I asked salesman if he go any lower and snagged the deal for another $ off. Well we are waiting for it to be wrapped up as we were facing possible storms and traveling an hour away. My kids were climbing over beds and chairs. I never realized there was signs that said don't cuz I was signing paperwork. Right before we were ready to leave we found a play area although it was supper small and was storage area for the vacuum and real old TV I am talking a small 13 inch box tv and the area was maybe 5' by 3' if that, triangle shape. My wife made mention of oh that would have been nice to know about and nobody replied to her. I would assume that area is for children while parents shop so the kids are happy too. I think some room could be devoted to making the okay area a little bigger. Or possibly a few play areas so if parents want their kids closer. Overall we had about a B rating for this store and...
Read moreHorrible mattress buying experience. When I was shopping for a mattress, I was given so little necessary attention by the sales representative, simply because my budget was low. He did very little beyond ringing up my purchase. But I needed a mattress, so I bought a mattress, box spring, and a protector from them. Fast forward a few years, and the mattress is sagging significantly. A ten year warranty, and the mattress is trash not even halfway through. I call for a technician to come inspect and measure the sagging mattress, and it more than exceeds their 1.5" sagging standard. That the mattress is a defective piece of trash is verified. Oh, but wait, theit mattress protector didn't protect my mattress properly. In spite of regular care and following laundering instructions fastidiously, the protector failed, and there's a sweat stain on the mattress. Slumberland manages the warranty returns, and they joyously denied my claim. I never once used the mattress without the protector, due to their instructions on use. I'm stuck with a five year old mattress that has been garbage for over a year now and a failed mattress protector, all purchased from a company that sells garbage and doesn't guarantee their products, staffed by sales representatives who only care about big dollar buyers. Oh, and the kicker? When I called for more information on the current mattress's receipt, the sales representative had the audacity to actually say, "Oh, well, we have some mattresses on sale that I would be happy to show you." Right. No. I'll be...
Read moreBought mattress, mattress pad and 2 pillows. Slept on pillows last night and we both woke up with very sorry necks. The pillows weren’t comfortable at all. Called the store and was told by Marjorie they couldn’t b returned or exchanged. Apparently nothing that is “on” the bed can b returned and that would have been explained to us at time of purchase. We were never told anything about their return policy. Marjorie explained itwas on the back of the receipt. Who looks on the back of the receipt unless instructed to? I guess we were too trusting…I’ve never purchased anything that couldn’t be exchanged. Was also asked if we tried the pillows in the store. Yes we did but they didn’t feel anything like the ones we purchased. I’m sure the reason is because of the number of customers who also tried the pillows so they got broken in. So im stuck with 2 very expensive pillows I will never use. Won’t be purchasing from slumberland again. No communication and no...
