I moved into an apartment and stupidly allowed my ex boyfriend to move in with me to help him out of his situation. So we combined our phone service and Wi-Fi all together. I told them I wanted to be the account holder because its my apartment and I didn't trust my ex. Well I stepped away for a phone call while things were being set up and they went ahead and put my ex as the account holder behind my back. I had no clue until I broke up with him and kicked him out of my apartment. So I went to get him off my Wi-Fi and phone plan and they told me I'm not the account holder and he needs to come in store and sign a contract to sign the account over into my name. I informed them I have a restraining order against him and he's not allowed to be near me and they said there is no other way since both of us have to sign the contract in front of one of the sales associates to confirm its been signed over properly. So they basically said I have to reach out to my ex break my restraining order just to get my stuff in my name when it should of already been in my name in the first place but they went behind my back. So my ex came in store and signed the contract in front of Kyle the sales associate I was dealing with back in May of 2024. Everything transferred and was good to go up until November all of a sudden I went to pay my bill and it stated I somehow was no longer the account holder after 5 months of paying and it being fine then all of a sudden I have no access to my account and my name is no longer the primary even though we switched everything into my name back in May. They began to tell me they cannot provide me with who the account holder is since I no longer am the account holder somehow. I sat there cried and begged them to give me information but they refused since they would be breaking laws with the company so I left. I returned the next day demanding answers and spoke to this lady sales associate and she went behind the bosses back to tell me that the account holder is now somehow under my ex's name and all my information was switched to a new address with a different girls name on the account. Which I again explained I have a restraining order against him and he should not all of a sudden be the account holder on my account that was switched into my name in May. She told me he must of did something to take over my account and I have to fill out a fraudulent ID packet which costed me $25 to collect all the papers and send out on priority mailing. To then receive a phone call from my ex's mom stating that they received the Fraud packet went down to spectrum for the sales rep to tell them it was an error in their system and there was no fraud involved. Called to let them know I was thinking of changing to fiber for $65 for 1GB and they came back with changing my 500 MG for $103 a month to 1 GB for $55 a month. Was told I’d be receiving a new router at no cost and that charges would change for this month right away and not next month. All of this was confirmed today by spectrum because their AI program records the calls. Yesterday received the bill and it’s $103 and still no 1GB so I called. Basically I was told I was lied to and they actually can’t do that price and won’t honor the deal made. They gave me another offer that doesn’t even beat the fiber optics price. No explanation just that who I spoke with should not have given me the price . I explained a manager of the agent I spoke with approved the price. At this point I have been dealing with this for over two hours on the phone and finally spoke with another supervisor who was going to contact the other agents I spoke with, for what reason I’m unsure and said they would call me back and now it’s been hours since I got off the phone with them. Read moreI went there with a flyer that I got in the mail that said I can get 2 cell phone lines for $15 a month for 12 months. I spoke with Daniel Powell and he assured me that it was not a "too good to be true" thing and charged $49.99 to my credit card. In hindsight I can see now why he was so adamant about making sure my credit card was in their system. I told him I was already paying $49.99 a month and he said that the new charges will be that plus the $15 for the phones and that I should not be seeing the monthly charge I was paying on the 15th of each month, and I asked him twice "are you sure?" because I am a single dad on a budget and I do not like surprises. Well lo & behold, the unpleasant surprise came, so I looked at his business card to call but all it had was an email, so I emailed him about this and no answer. I went to the store and they had only ONE person working there and there were 7 people in their queue. I left and transfered the lines back to Verizon. I may pay more but at least I do not get such dishonest service. Also I am currently shopping for another ISP because the thought of having them makes my stomach turn.
