So let's start off with the good, Bill and Paul's is a really cool place. Phenomenal selection of gear and clothing and getting 1 dollar of B&p Bucks per 10 dollars spent is a great loyalty program. I will be back to shop around the store.
However, I won't trust them to tune our snowboards anymore. The wax seems perfect but they beveled / ground off the top edge coat of the rear of my board and the front radius of my wife's board. We brought this up to someone at the store and they went back to get the gentleman that tunes snowboards. He said that he guarantees he didn't do it and blamed it on normal wear and tear. This is highly unlikely because the two areas show a very consistent grinding pattern that is continuous and not what you would find in normal wear patterns or getting knicked from riding. They are both in similar areas where the employee demonstrated he has the boards face up and at an angle that would create this pattern if one was not careful with the tool they are using. These snowboards have never been tuned before and while I can't prove that they did it, I know that they did. There was a very distinct lack of accountability and no ownership of the mistakes that were made on both boards. I'm not saying don't take your boards here but be sure to take pictures of your board as a whole and especially on the nose and tail because then you can have something to actually show them when they are denying...
Read moreWe went in to get my husband new snowboard boots. Super great service with the guy we worked with. Then, we went upstairs to buy/look at coats. When we got up there we asked where all of the men’s coats were. The two guys, one being Scott and the other guy had long redish hair, looked at us and rolled his eyes and said “right here.” With a blunt look on his face, arms leaning on the racks, didn’t offer any help to us to find something specifically that we were looking for or anything. My husband politely asked if there was one in our price range, $300 price range. Scott picks up a tag and says “yeah, this one is $550” we weren’t looking to spend $500-$800 on a coat. My husband looks at him and asks again if there were coats in our price range, Scott then rolls his eyes again and said they’re right here, and then walks away. Never asked what size my husband was to see if they even had his size or if they could order it if they didn’t have his size. When he walked away very rudely he went to the registers, stood behind the counter and continued to then talk about us with the other gentleman as they were looking right at us and laughing. All in all, we felt very judged and out of place with the way they treated us in the apparel section. We were very pleased with the gentleman who helped us downstairs and the lady at...
Read moreI was looking to rent kayaks for a quick fall trip with a friend this past weekend. Seeing that Bill and Paul's advertised kayak rentals on their website, I gave them a call. The staff person I spoke to responded to my inquiry by saying "We typically sell a lot of our boats around this time...we don't have a lot of selection." When I explained that I just needed two boats for a shallow water, easy trip, he said that he did have two kayaks, but repeated the statement above. I was confused as to why I wasn't being offered the opportunity to rent, so I asked if they no longer offered rentals for the season. The staff person said they were still renting, but then quoted me a rate higher than what was advertised on the website, and repeated that they did not have a lot of selection, even though he had confirmed that the boats he had would work for my trip. Confused as to why I was being discouraged so strongly from doing business with them I thanked him and found rentals elsewhere for a better price and...
