🦇 Black Cat Bodega is the BEST witchy/metaphysical/gift shop in Grand Rapids, hands down! 🙌

🖤 Not only is the gothic decor and aesthetic absolutely stunning, but there are so many wonderful and unique items tucked into every nook and cranny of the store. The stock is also constantly changing and rotating, so there's always something new and exciting to see. The shop offers supplies for witchcraft like herbs, decks, crystals, candles, and smudges, but also goodies anyone can enjoy, like bath products, antiques, art, perfumes, and clothes.

The owner, Lorin, is warm and welcoming, and sources as much as possible from local artists and small, women-owned businesses. Women supporting women?? We love to see it! 💪

Black Cat Bodega has also recently opened their downstairs space to host tarot readings, events, and more to their Black Cat Members, (the space is just as beautiful as the shop upstairs) and I love that Lorin is going above and beyond to build genuine connections in her community. 🧹

Books are outrageously priced! $120 for 1 book?! What! 1 single (not original - a simple reprint) bookmark for $15?! Get out of town! $55 for any of their simple, nothing special earrings?! $50 for a simple, blanket journal??? $15 for a single, basic regular sticker??? $48 for a single, basic smudge herb bundle?! $50 for a regular reprint artwork without any frame or way to hang it, 4x6?! $45 for the tiniest bottle of Florida water ive ever seen?! Woah pricey. The have a itty bitty tiny book selection (1/2 of them u can't even look at without "getting assistance" for each & every book - do u know how long this makes the process of trying to find a single book to be?!) they have a decent size section for oracle cards/tarot pouches, but hardly any decent (not cheapo doesnt-come-with-a-card-definition-booklet) tarot decks. This is the kind of shop you could spend two hours in and still find new things that call to you. It’s such a magical environment with so many lovely products. I’ve only been here twice, but Lorin and her team have created and added more and more products ranging from art prints, tarot, stickers, astrology, to local jewelry, bones, skin care, decoration, antique objects, and so much more. It may seem like a lot of variety but the store feels like a collective.
