One of my staple places to go to for pool.  They also have a decent burger. - Northfield Burger - $8.75 (with cheese and lettuce): Ordered with American cheese ($1), lettuce ($0.25), ketchup (free), and mayo (free).  Seemed odd being charged for the little things, but the burger overall was fairly cheap, so I am not going to complain. The burger is a third pound.  It seemed a bit smaller, but only marginally.  It was still filling.  It was juicy.  Mine was the one with the chips.  It is a cheaper burger and a decent value. - Chips - $: Same as many other places that make their own chips.  Not my favorite.  I’d rather have chips from a bag myself.  Also, they did not give me very many.  I had maybe 10 chips.  Get the fries or tots.  They are an extra $2.75, though. - Tots - $2.75 (added to the burger): VERY soft, but still crispy on the outside.  Great taste overall.  Much better than the chips. - House Salad - $4: Shredded lettuce with toppings and dressing.  A bit on the odd side, but my friend really liked it. - Service: You have to go to the bar to order, but they do bring it to you.  We are shooting pool and they bring it to us.  They are usually very quick to get us our order, though the line at the bar can be a bit of a wait depending on how many others are being served. - Atmosphere: This is one of my favorite local places to shoot pool with a friend.  Been here a LOT over the years.  They have two pool tables in the bar area.  The top level one is nice and secluded. The air ventilation is a bit odd.  There is a draft feel from the vent blowing and left us feeling cold in winter.  There are other gambling type games as well. NOTE: Sometimes leagues meet at the bowling alley and the parking lot is fairly full, BUT The Tap (bar) is still fairly empty. - TouchTunes: They do have a jukebox which uses the TouchTunes app.  I’ve used it, but I would NOT recommend it at all.  If you don’t use the money after a couple months, you lose it.  I bought $20 worth of tokens in the app before, used $2-3, came back later, and it was gone from my account (without warning, notification, or alert).  Not the fault of the restaurant’s as they don’t own and run it, but don’t use it unless you use it all at once.  The tokens can be used at other TouchTunes places, which I’ve done and that is nice. Other than that, it is a very cozy place. DISCLAIMER: I am not a Spartan fan.  I am not a sports fan at all. - Conclusion: I’ve brought the family (immediate and extended) to bowl and play pool.  The bar side (Tap) is not as family friendly, but very cozy and welcoming. Visited on a Tuesday at 6pm, but also many times on many days.

This is one of my favorite late-night spots on the NE side. Randy is, without a doubt, the best bartender in Grand Rapids. The food is surprisingly good, especially for a bowling alley, and the prices are fair. They also have great pool tables.

There is no reason for the food to be as good as it is. Also Randy behind the bar somehow manages to wait on every seat in the whole place solo without missing a beat. Great food, excellent service. A fantastic...
