Good place to bowl, good burger (see my review for “Tap”), and good pool tables.

Bowling - $22: My son and I bowled three games using their shoes and balls. The computers used to keep score are generally easy to use, but the names get cut short to four letters. The score was accurate when we played, we didn’t have any mechanical difficulties except a wild pin that needed to be pulled from the gutter which is expected. We used bumpers and that even saved me a few times (shame on me).

The lanes were well kept and polished. There was little to no deterioration that I noticed anywhere in the lanes. The further back you go from there to the seating area does have some wear and tare, but not bad for the price you pay.

Shoes: Some are great, but some are frayed and showing wear. They have usually been clean, though.

Balls: There is a variety of finger hole sizes and weights. I usually find one for me and I like medium weight with larger finger holes. The kids can sometimes have a hard time finding one, but I think they just don’t want to search long. Might help if they sorted the balls, but that would take a lot of work for little return. Maybe organize it like a library? Don’t return a ball, but put it on a special shelf instead.

Music: They use TouchTunes which you can interface with their app. The app does NOT keep your balance long term and I lost money after either my balance expired several times (three months?) or a transition in the software. I never looked into it as it was a small balance that was lost (less than $10). I finally gave up on it. Not their fault, but know it if you are interested.

Pool: The pool table in the bowling alley is $1.50. The pool tables in the bar are $1.00 and are slightly better. It would depend on if you are with your kids or not, I guess. I opted for the bowling alley because my son is younger and we only played one game. Otherwise, I stop by with a friend and we shoot pool on the bar side.

The pool cues have missing ends, they don’t seem to have a pool bridge stick, the table also needs some revitalizing, though it was okay for me as an amateur (I just play for fun). I bring my own cue stick, but I am not professional at all.

Atmosphere: Generally clean and cheerfully decorated. Sometimes music is playing, but sometimes not. The furniture is generally well-kept, but the pool table area needs some attention on the bowling alley side.

Parking: Can be very full during leagues. Leagues end in May from what I was told over the phone.

Conclusion: I’d say it is worth a visit to try them out, but know there are a couple of minor things.

I recently had the pleasure of rediscovering the joy of bowling at Northfield Lanes in Creston, and I had a nice time!

It was my first time at Northfield Lanes. With 16 lanes, shoe rentals, and an good selection of bowling balls, it's a haven for anyone looking for a good time.

The atmosphere is lively, and the option to enjoy some delicious classic bar food while bowling adds an extra layer of enjoyment. Although I didn't indulge this time, the tempting menu ensures I'll be back for more on my next visit.

Setting up the lanes was a breeze, and the attentive staff was quick to assist if anything went awry. Kudos to the friendly attendants for their prompt service!

Now, let's talk about the highlight - the bowling itself. I might not be a pro, but I had an absolute blast. To my surprise, I scored a personal best of 127 in one of my games! It's safe to say Northfield Lanes offers the perfect blend of fun, entertainment, and a touch of friendly competition.

If you're in the mood for an incredible time out of the house, Northfield Lanes is the place to be. Embrace the winter vibes, stay active, and enjoy the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly...

We had our granddaughter's 7th birthday party there with 21 of her friends. They all had a great time! The kids enjoyed the bowling, and the parents enjoyed visiting as well as watching the kids have fun! The pizza and French fries were a big hit with the kids. There were lots of other options for the adults. The staff was great! Helping with balls that weren't thrown hard enough to reach the pins to setting up the bumpers and the ramp for a few of the younger kids. The food came from the kitchen hot and in a timely matter! There was plenty of room to decorate and even set up a gift table. The owner / staff are always willing to work with you! This was our fourth birthday party for our granddaughter there. We offered a few of the popular birthday spots for her party, but it's always the same, I want to go bowling! A GREAT time was had by all! Thank you,...
