last week I stopped into TJ's to purchase a washer and dryer and found out that I knew the owners wife Gene who was working there, after shopping the black Friday sales looking for a deal to fit my budget and small space to fit them, I ended up going back there, to pick out a pair, the girl working there at that time helped me finding the washer and dryer that would fit in my small spot, we arranged for delivery and "hook up" the next week, Gene took it upon herself to "match" the washer to the dryer, {same brand}. which would not fit, too wide and they already sold the one I picked out, which had a note with my name on it. It came time to deliver them, and "they the two guys" hooked up the washer and you could easily see that the dryer was not going to fit. So they decide to "test" the washer and do a small load, and we would go back to their store to pick out a new dryer, we found one and brought it to my house to hook up, but when we got there the washer was just making a "buzzing" sound and not going thru it's cycles, it was not off balanced or over loaded, it just wasn't working.... and both the delivery guys and I had other commits to go to, "work for me", so we agreed to take the washer and dryer out and back to the store and try again the next day. The delivery guys unhooked the washer and took that and the dryer and washer. I came home after work at 4:30 pm to a shiny kitchen floor wet with water, and went to the basement to find standing water all over the floor, soaking the carpets and dripping thru the floor from upstairs where the hose to the washer was, and water was still leaking out, this water leaked right over a electrical junction box, also the smoke detector, as it ran to the basement, flooding it. I called Gene at TJ's to tell her this and she told me, that "I NEEDED TO GET A SHOP VAC AND CLEAN THIS UP", I couldn't believe this, She wanted me to clean this mess up that her guys made, I told her to have her husband contact me immediately...and hung up, I went downstairs to shut the water off completely, one more turn is all it took.....I started to document with pictures the damage from the flowing water, I'm getting ready to contact my insurance company for this and also the Better Business Bureau to repot this, I had to borrow a shop vac and dehumidifier from friends, and spent hours sucking up the water and rolling up the carpets to get them to dry, I've been waiting for days now and TJ's has not reached out to me, I still cannot believe that I was told to clean up the damage that they did, what kind of business would not step up when they are at fault??? So all I can tell everybody is to "NOT to ever buy anything from these guys, they will not stand up for their mistakes even for a friend", Stay away from this business, and find another place for your...
Read moreAbsolutely. A terrible place to deal with. The First dryer I purchased from them. Stopped working within the first 2 weeks... But they had a thirty day warranty.. If the model we had purchased was way nicer and newer than the replacement.. Because they stated you have to take what we have now or wait until a similar model comes in!! So I had my new choice. I ended up taking some model that looked like it was built-in 1975... I happened to do a short sale and the house a month later And we left our washer and dryer behind. So I have no idea how long that 1 lasted... But I thought since they had replaced it even though the situation was bad in the sense that I got a very old one... When I needed another one I decided to go again and give them a shot.this one lastes 6 months 400$ and then had them come look at it and was told it's a 300 plus dallor part and could Take 2 weeks to get in. But if I came in, they would take this one away and give me a deal on another 1. I wanna head and hit up YouTube did some OHM Testing, and it was the timer switch a $53 part. I highly advise everybody and anybody do not purchase from this place. TJ himself is well over the years of working on stuff and I really don't even know if he knows what he's doing... He could barely stand up. He was holding on to our counter while trying to speak to us. It's just...
Read moreWe bought a refrigerator, just the type we were looking for. The price was reasonable and it was in great shape. The sales lady even went down a little to make the sale even better. We needed to have their movers move the old broken frig out, move the refrigerator from the kitchen upstairs to the basement (to replace the broken one) and move the new one into the kitchen. If it had been a simpler move, the cost would have been included in the original price, but because the move was more complicated, the cost was only a little bit more added to it. We were very happy they moved everything around for us, because we could have never done it ourselves. It worked great for a week and then everything got warm. We turned the temperature colder, to see if that worked, but it didn't help. So I called TJ's to report it, and she gave me Ted, the owner/repairer's number. He called back very promptly and came to fix it the next day after they opened. He put more freeon in it, and by the next early morning it was working great again! I'd buy another appliance from them again any day! We're very happy. (And we're not a relative and have never...
