Interior design is intensely personal and it requires a design professional who can be simultaneously a friend, psychoanalyst, counsellor, logistics expert as well as a designer. Sally is all of those – and more. She and her team have done the design work on our Columbus home, a nearby weekend cottage, our Sarasota home and a Canadian wilderness cottage. The breadth of her knowledge and access to a broad range of design materials, furniture and accessories is unparalleled. She has made what is frequently a cumbersome and difficult job both pleasant and relatively easy. Of special note and a good example of the professionalism of her team is the work she did on our Canadian retreat, a very remote wilderness log cottage off the grid on a remote lake. The design work was only the beginning. Her team then did all of the hard work to get the final work product through customs, on a truck to a muddy boat landing, on a small barge and then up a steep, rocky slope to its final destination. Sally was instrumental in designing our home when we built it 21 years ago. She worked with the architects and helped with all aspects of design, from fireplaces and woodwork, cabinets and molding, roof color etc. THEN and most importantly - when I was overwhelmed with interior choices from faucets to tile to carpet to wood floor color - she narrowed my choices by giving me several to chose from - there by restoring my sanity. Then she planned all paint colors, wallpaper choices, window coverings, and furniture choices and fabrics for every room, totally integrating the entire interior design of our home. Ten years later I asked Interiorworks to oversee a refresh, including reupholstering many of our original furniture choices. In 2020 we did a third, much more extensive redux of our home with new color palettes and furniture. We are thrilled with all of Sally's curated choices. We have had Sally do our interiors in every home we've lived in since 1991 when we first met her -- in Bexley, Ohio; Madison, New Jersey; Seattle; Manhattan; and a house we built on the North Fork of Long Island. And each time, the uniqueness of the particular spaces and geographical areas were taken into consideration in the design.
