This morning we traveled from Baltimore, MD for 7 hours. We had reservations at another hotel, the Holiday Inn. Well when my son made the reservation he told them what time we would be getting there and they said that wasnāt a problem checking in that early and that no one had our room . We stopped by to check in and the girl at the front desk said we could t get into our room until 4pm. So we called a few others and finally we called the Hyatt and we explained that we traveled from Baltimore with a 5 month baby and needed a room. The lady at the front desk was very very helpful and put us in a very nice room. She was so nice and sweet! We didnāt get her name but she worked overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning. But who ever she is I would like to thank her Bc she went above and beyond to accommodate us . She said to us āget some rest and make the baby comfortableā. That is the true meaning of being in the hospitality field. Helping others to feel welcomed and help the customers to the best of your ability, and then you have those who take it as having a job that you just receive a pay check from and donāt care for any one elseās situation and is self centered. So with that said if I ever come back to Columbus, Ohio I will not be staying at any other hotel besides the Hyatt! The room was very spacious and clean. Two queen beds with a living room area. I was impressed! Thank you who ever you are, over night...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI reserved 2 rooms for our first visit to Columbus. I hoped for the best and was very pleasantly surprised that this Hyatt Place exceeded my expectations. Both rooms were spotless. Housekeeping was efficient and friendly. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were there 2 nights during a huge event, so most hotels were fully booked.
We used the free shuttle to get us to the Ohio Stadium, but traffic was at a standstill, so we were dropped off near the Bravo Italian restaurant and walked the rest of the way.
Breakfast was nice, busy, but well stocked and maintained. Tables were cleaned between guests as much as possible.
There's a decent bar right next door, and we did see the German Biergarden that others mentioned as well as the gym around the corner.
The hotel is located in the Grandview Yard area, which is a newer development, quiet, safe and clean, and easily walkable. There's electric scooter rentals everywhere you look around the city, including the area around this hotel.
Parking is plenty in the parking garage across the street.
I'd suggest asking for a room ending in 27 (527, 627, etc) because the rooms are much bigger.
The ONLY complaint I have is that the elevators take forever during breakfast and checkout times, but that's to be expected.
We couldn't have picked a better location. This hotel definitely lives up to and represents the Hyatt family very well! We'd 100%...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHow often do you get to stay in your local neighborhood hotel? Plumbing issues at our nearby apartment saw to it that me and my partner had the opportunity to enjoy a couple of unplanned weeknights at the Hyatt Place in Grandview Yard.
The stay was positively unmemorable outside of our personal efforts to make the best of a bad situation. This was thanks in large part to the wildly convenient and issue-free stay at the hotel a short walk from our front door. Available and affordable (though our landlord did foot the bill) on a few hours notice, our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was calm and efficient upon checking in and checking out, and were largely unnoticeable aside from their polite and comforting demeanor. Not to mention the complimentary breakfast provided the best potatoes you could ask for in a hotel lobby.
Though very familiar to us, the surrounding neighborhood welcomed us warmly with an unrivaled sense of safety, as we enjoyed an evening stroll around town to settle our stress. We could have crawled, but opted to walk next door to Pastimes Pub for some cheap drinks and bar food. We even bit the bullet and squeezed in a workout in the quaint but enjoyable hotel gym.
While I hope I am not sequestered to my hometown hotel again anytime soon, I would be more than content to make a return visit to Hyatt Place if necessary. Thanks for taking care of...
