Laughing Loon — Local services in Grant Township

We went to Copper Harbor during Sept 2020 to “get away” from the virus because Keweenaw Peninsula was very low incident and everyone taking it seriously. We practiced our safety precautions and were so happy to find the shops and restaurants being so careful.

The Laughing Loon was no exception. We were warmly greeted upon entering and also asked to use the hand sanitizer at the door. GLADLY!

We’re so glad we found this little gem. We bought a wonderfully soft and warm fleece throw with black bears, autumn leaves, fir trees and snowflakes on it. I love it because it’s larger than most throws, I can cover neck to toes! Also purchased yooper loop stones (look up these very cool stones), pine incense, pine scented soap, and our postcards. We very much enjoyed wandering through so many unique items. On the porch they have the coolest, themed-art yard poles for sale. Wish I had given into my impulses and bought one.

I live at the OPPOSITE end of our great State of Michigan, in Battle Creek. My wife and my 7th anniversary is approaching, and since the 7th is a 'copper' anniversary, thought I'd locate something from Copper Harbor. Upon searching and looking around the 'net,' I found Laughing Loon Gifts. I called and left a message for someone to return my call; within a couple of short days, Hannah (a pleasant, helpful soul) helped me find the perfect gift for the wife. It was so effortless and Hannah, as I'm sure the rest of the staff is, was profoundly nice & patient, helping me through the whole process. I rec'd what I ordered, just today, and am very pleased and satisfied! I recommend anyone to the Laughing Loon, whether in-person, which we plan on doing soon, or over the phone; it was a perfect experience. Laughing Loon is one of my go-to favorite stores to shop at when I'm in the Copper Country.

The owner and all her employees there are very nice & helpful.

Our last trip up there a couple of months ago, I found a nice thick hoodie sweatshirt, but unfortunately, they didn't have my size. They said they're on order, and they'd let me know when they're back in stock.

A few weeks later, they texted me to let me know it was in stock, and they shipped the sweatshirt to me. And it was worth the wait. It's so warm & cozy. I love it! Wish they had sweat pants to go with it.
