This is hard to do, because I love this store. Very cute, unique items and clothes. Today was not a positive experience. I walked in to buy myself something that makes me smile, wasn't sure what that was going to be, but just a little "treat" for myself, self-love and care is so important! From the moment I walked in, I could hear a customer and employee discussing weight, and diet, but not theirs, it was of female family members, which I guess would be crushed if they knew what was said. Mentioning "they should go on weight watchers, you can be on that for life" It continued the entire time I was in there, ten minutes would be my guess. I had picked up a couple of valentine sale items and was looking at the jewelry across from the register counter where the ladies were standing and talking. They were not trying to keep it quiet at all, and after many comments regarding members of their family member's weights, eating, excercise, size, etc. To the point of saying with disgust how tall and what weight a female member of their family was. Totally body/size shaming, so blantant and rude, devoid of any compassion or consideration. Plus no regard given to the fact that I was in there shopping, I was completely saddened to hear all of it. And I could hear ALL of the conversation, without trying to, and honestly, I would never choose to hear that. I was just going to walk out, but then decided to say something. I told the lady behind the counter, that I was putting the items back, and that their conversation was triggering. I said that we need to learn to be accepting of not just all races, genders, religions, but also sizes. Body shaming is so real and those words cut very deep. I said you should never bash someone for their weight. The customer that was having the conversation with the employee piped up and said she never bashed anyone. The associate that was working and part of the negative conversation did apologize. I did not say anything else. I just left. Choose kindness and acceptance. We have so much negativity around us, try to spread some sunshine and...

The building is not accessible at all. The only entrance is through the front door, which has a high step that excludes people in wheelchairs and makes it extremely difficult for people with mobility devices to enter. The store is also very cramped, and you will often bump into people accidentally. I also have had multiple occurrences with some of the employees fat shaming me, and they are unaware of the damage they are creating. Just a friendly reminder that if someone cannot fix something about themselves in 30 seconds or less, then it has no place in being mentioned. It is so easy to be kind, and employees of this store need to be trained in how to be inclusive of all customers. It makes me wonder how many negative side comments are made about other customers, especially people who may not look a "typical" way. Not a safe space whatsoever, unless you meet the typical "Granville standards". (I have had no issues with the owner -- it has always been the employees who have made passive and extremely rude remarks). So, if you fit the "Granville standards", great, this store is for you. If not, run far, far away and go to a more inclusive boutique that advocates for universal access and treats everyone...
