I have mixed feelings about The Pub based on a recent experience. I've been going here for years and have always had great service and the food is delicious. I recommend the buffalo chicken dip, pub club and a bahama mama to drink!
However, my recent experience has honestly terrible. My maid of honor made a reservation a month ahead of time and called two days before the date to make sure the reservation was still in place. There were going to be 8 of us dining, so we wanted to be courteous to the staff since we were going on a Friday night. My maid of honor received a text confirmation of our reservation the day-of. We were taking photos by the old Donatos waiting on our reservation time when my MOH missed a call from the Pub. She walked over to the restaurant and the staff had given away our table because she didn't answer the phone (it was before our reservation time). So, my group went over and were patiently waiting trying to figure out what happened. 10ish minutes go by and no movement or check-in from the staff. I walked up to the host stand and a manager (?) walks up and asks if we need anything, and I proceed to say, "Yes, a table for our reservation we made. Our table was given away." And a hostess walks up at that moment saying, "We don't make reservations. I wrote her name on a sticky note." At that point, I knew it was time to leave. We were not welcomed at The Pub. So I loudly said, "Thanks for ruining my bachelorette dinner!" And then manager (?) called me a Karen.
It was very disappointing that we were not treated with more respect. If you don't take reservations, why did my MOH receive a text that day confirming the reservation? If you only do call ahead seating, why weren't we informed? Most of us have been servers or are servers, so we understand restaurant life and are typically patient. Maybe it was a lack of communication between staff? Regardless, this experience put a damper on the start of a really fun night. I hope to someday give The Pub another chance...but that day won't be...
Read moreMy star rating is not really reflective of the ups and downs we had at this visit. This was NOT the 1st time we have been here. In fact, we chose it because we never have issues. Now I am not sure I will return. It was not busy as there were plenty of open tables and plenty of staff walking around. Was greeted with zero enthusiasm. Then sat and sat. We sat and waited for almost 10 minutes before anyone ever came to take our drink order. She must have been the sister of the greeter since the server had about the same level of enthusiasm. Monotone, quiet, disinterested, annoyed. Just a peach of a server, for sure! We ordered apps - Fried Green Beans & Buffalo Chicken dip. Beans - yummy! Dip, eh. Nothing to write home about. Too dry, chicken too big - not shredded enough, barely any buffalo spiciness. And it was served with stale corn tortilla chips - that's the wrong vessel, fresh or not. Moving on - burgers. Once they finally arrived....and I mean it was almost dinner time by the time it arrived - it had issues. My wife's burger was missing one of the condiments, no biggie. Except that the $1.00 worth of mushrooms they added was pathetic. Maybe one entire bottom mushroom worth. Pathetic. I had items that I did not want. So basically we just asked for take-home containers and left with most of our food. Don't get me wrong - the food was good, except for buffalo dip. The service was terrible and not even an offer to take anything off the bill for the continued issues. Just...
Read moreTwice I have stopped by The Pub to have a bite to eat. First time I entered. Sat at the bar for over ten minutes without being acknowledged. Finally left when the bartender decided to serve two customers who came in well after I did. Yes, they were better dressed than I (I was wearing jeans, a wool shirt and sweater. They were in sport coats.) It was apparent I was not to be served so I left. The second time my wife and I asked for a table for the two of us. The server took us to a table that was, for us, to close to the noisy bar. We asked for the next table over as it was a little quieter. The server said he could not sit us there as they had a seating chart (meaning the server for that table had already had one seated for the next patron had to be seated in another section). I told him no, either we get the table at which we will be more comfortable or we leave. I don't think I have ever seen a more blank expression on a servers's face. I waited a few more seconds while the server stood there giving me the aforementioned blank look. I used to work in an more upscale restaurant than The Pub and, regardless of the "server rotation" a if tables were available, you would give the patron the table of their choice. I have given them two chances and I will never be back. If you are looking for a good meal where you will be treated with respect, Try either Brews next door or the Mexican Restaurant down the street....
