Almar Jewelers — Local services in Grapevine

Read here if you're considering Almar's for luxury watch service. Brought in my brand new Omega Seamaster for sizing after reading all the positive reviews. Typically, I'd size my own watch bracelets, but Omega's come from factory with loctite so I thought I'd have a jeweler do it. The person working up front was very nice and when I asked if they were comfortable working on Omega's they said yes. I mentioned the factory loctite and that I'd heard heat is usually needed to soften the loctite before removing the screws. They took the watch back and a few minutes later returned it, but with 3 damaged screw heads. I'm not sure if no heat was used, or the wrong screw driver, or carelessness. Maybe all 3. They were apologetic and I appreciated that. I understand they're offering complimentary watch sizing (and I love to support local businesses), but if your'e not sure you can do something without damaging it, you should not tell me you're comfortable with it nor offer the service to me. Of course there is nothing that can be done and again, I appreciated the kindness and candor from the person who helped me, but keep this in mind if you're considering bringing your luxury watch to them. 3 stars only for the courtesy at the...

I wish I could give Almar more than five stars! I needed an earring post to be reshaped and a small sapphire in my antique wedding band replaced. The gentleman behind the counter (the owner?) took my earring and repaired it on the spot, and didn’t charge me a dime. He told me the ring would be about a week to fix and shouldn’t cost much.

I came back in a few days later to pick up the ring because I’d gotten some travel dates wrong and wanted to have my piece with me. I asked if they could possibly have it ready the next day — without any to-do or fuss, they said it would be ready that same day!! In less than an hour, I had my ring back and the repair was beautifully done and ridiculously inexpensive. Everyone I dealt with went out of their way to be kind and accommodating. I came to this place as it was close by to my apartment- the reviews seemed good and I needed my engagement ring resized. I was under a strict time limit, and Almar Jewelers assured me they would have ring done in time. When I picked up ring, I felt it was too big, and they immediately resized ring down and let me continually try it on throughout process to make sure I got perfect fit. He even added notch to my ring to make sure it didn't swing around my finger. The ring is perfectly sized now, and I am so happy I found this place! The pricing is extremely reasonable, and the employees are so friendly.
