Balkan Garden Bistro — Restaurant in Grapevine

Glad this place is finally open. Been anxious to try it out since we saw the signs go up down the way from our place. The atmosphere and decor is nice and feels cozy and welcoming. We were greeted kindly and sat by the chef himself. I am not sure yet if he may also be the owner but may inquire next visit. Our waiter was Hector. He was very kind and knowledgeable with the few questions we had, having never been there before, or had very much experience enjoying Balkan region cuisine. He took great care of us. I had the Ćevapi. It is seasoned sausages on a sizzling iron skillet with onion and red peppers with a Bosnian flatbread? If I recall correctly. But dang, it was so good. The bread was fantastic. Grilled, lightly oiled, easy to tear apart and porous and fluffy on the inside. It came with a side of some sort of mild pepper sauce and a yogurty based sauce. I guess you can eat it how you like, but I tore off bread and made mini pitas out of it and put sausage, sauce and onion and peppers on it. Parts of the menu have some pricier entrees like a tomahawk steak, and sea bass. We thought what we ordered was a little on the pricier side too even though it was mid range price in the menu. Until we saw the portions we got. You'll probably have lunch for tomorrow for leftovers. We had the ceviche as an appetizer and it could feed like 4 people to share to start Or close to 2 just to have as a shared small lunch for 2. And this ceviche is fresh and delicious, and it is mostly seafood. A lot of places load theirs with tomato and onion and whatnot to cut costs. But theirs is large, very fresh, and very liberal with the protein. Which I can also very much say about the cevapi and the kebab dish my mom had. You will definitely get your money's worth. What we had was fantastic. We will definitely be back, and I want to try more of the menu. I didn't try any cocktails, but the selection looked nice, as well as wine. Excellent food Reasonable prices Comfortable Accessible

Our party of two had a very enjoybale Dinner at Balkan Garden Bistro.

The food was good, the Atmosphere is good, the Service was good, and the prices are reasonable.

We had the Hvaar Crab Cakes for an appetizer. They were excellent and for $7 a completely unreasonably good bargain.

We ordered the Sarma and they had to bring us something else for some reason. I think it was the Punjene Paprike. It was very good and according to the waiter, basically the same thing.

The Cevapi was like Fajitas with little sausages and was outstanding. We got the 10 piece, but it was so good I really wish I had just ordered the 15 piece.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is comfortable and you'll forget you are in a shopping center that has a gas station in it.

The feature wall light that says "The Grass is Greener Where you Water it" is VERY bright.

Our Service was excellent, but the young staff maybe got a little close to being more casual than they should. The restaurant feels so close to being fine dining you might feel like you expect super polished career service staff. The prices and location however just make it a supery yummy...

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We were seated immediately however it took 40 minutes for the waiter to take our orders. He brought us water and did not ask if we wanted an appetizer or drinks. It took him 40 minutes to come take our order, and even though we wanted to order an appetizer it didn't really make any sense at that point. The restaurant was not busy we could see him sitting at the bar and completely ignoring us. He ended up trading us off to another waiter who was serving us for the rest of the night. We were already skeptical considering the restaurant is a fusion between Mexican and Balkan food, and it definitely let us down. Lepina was dry and ćevapi were really greasy.
