On 12/12/23, I bought a firearm and was told that I also received a gift card because it qualified for the Uncle Lee's 12 days of Christmas $25 gift card. On 12/14/23, Uncle Lee's called to say that they had given me the wrong firearm (different serial number) and asked me to return it, for another with correct serial number. I told them I lived over an hour away, but would be there the next day. When I gave them my unused/unopened firearm, I was presented with an obviously used one of the same make and caliber. I informed them I would not accept a used gun in return. I met with "Matt" who said the gun wasn't used, I showed Matt why the gun is not in new condition. Matt agreed to get a new gun from the back. I also mentioned that I would like to buy another gun from the 12 days of Christmas sale, and was told I would receive a $20 gift card for my trouble. I was also told that I would not be receiving the $25 gift card, as I was told with my original purchase. When I said that I wasn't interested in purchasing another firearm, if it didn't come with the gift card as the prior purchase did, Matt rescinded the gift card that was supposed to compensate me for my trouble of driving over an hour each way, to help with the problem they created. This is not the first time Uncle Lee's has mixed up serial numbers on guns. Earlier this year, I wanted to purchase a rifle, but was not allowed to, because they discovered they had already sold the one with the serial number for the one I wanted. As an aside, while I was waiting (over an hour) I overheard a woman tell an employee that she lived out of state and would like to purchase a handgun and take it with her. He told her that would not be a problem. He is also the employee who mixed up the serial numbers on the gun I purchased on 12/12/23. The owners and managers of Bud's Guns should look very closely at who is conducting business on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRUINED CHRISTMAS: Very disappointed in the service provided and the lack of empathy for the heartbreak they caused at Christmas time. I called and spoke with multiple people about ordering a firearm for my 11 year old for Christmas. This WAS NOT a last minute order. I spoke with the gun counter on Dec 13, it was confirmed that they had the item in stock at their Lexington KY location (Bud's) and that it would take 3-5 days to arrive and would be no problem getting it by Christmas if ordered by the 17th. I told them I would call them back the next day (Dec 14) and order, which I did. The firearm should have showed up Dec 20 (5 days later), again plenty of time before Christmas.
I dont hear anything from them so I call Sat the 21st and was told I would get a call back from the gun counter, I did not. I called Sunday the 22nd and was told again I would get a call back from the gun counter, They finally called 30 mins before closing Sunday evening from a private number. I did not answer because I get a lot of spam, this is partially on me. I call them first thing Monday morning Dec 23rd and finally talk to someone and was told that it was never ordered and they would not be able to get one in time for Christmas. I'm FURIOUS.... My 11yr old was mainly getting a shotgun along with a few small items and now I have nothing to put under the tree for Christmas. SO PISSED...
So what was their response. Ahh, well sorry, not sure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUp until today I had been a big fan of Uncle Lee's and have purchased several guns there along with tons of ammo holsters and other parts for almost ten years and have gone there weekly for years and sent family and friends and customers that I have met at my job, but today I went to trade in a gun I had bought there and hadn't shot since I had also ordered another version of the same gun with an optic cut and it came in sooner than expected so I only ever shot the optic version. So I just set on it for a month or so and found another gun I thought I'd like so I thought I would take a little bit of a loss and just trade it in to avoid selling it. However when I took it in they took it back and looked at it and came back and offered 450 dollars on a gun that cost 800 in the same store and didn't have a single blemish with all the factory parts still sealed. I understand they need to make money so I didn't think my asking somewhere around 600 as a general number was terrible but I couldn't believe when he offered just over half of what they sell the exact same gun for in the store. I decided then that after that I wouldn't ever buy another gun from them and won't recommend anyone else I know to buy from there again. Very disappointed that I spent money there at all...
