Our Great Dane (Stallone) recently started showing signs of aggression when people would come over to our house making us have to put him in his kennel or outside when we had company. We called Chinquapin to see if we could have the trainer come to our house to help us with our problem. I wish we had of called 6 months ago before we had any troubles. Andy talked us through what changes we needed to make on how we are working with our dogs and how to get Stallone to see that he is not the one who gets to decide who can be in our home. We have worked with both of our dogs (our Saint Bernard is not aggressive in the least bit so Andy only worked with the Great Dane, but the lessons have worked wonders for both dogs) daily since Andy was here and after 5 days we have already noticed a stark difference in our dogs behavior. Not only their behavior when people come over, which is something we are still working on, improvement is made daily, but also his behavior in the house. He has never shown any signs of aggression towards us in the home, but he has been stubborn to listen from time to time like most puppies, and something as simple as the sit movement has made a huge difference in how our dogs attitude towards us has changed. We cannot thank Andy enough for not only his help in teaching us how to get Stallone to follow our lead when allowing company in the house, but also in unknowingly helping us in our dogs regular daily obedience work that we didn't even know we needed help with. We highly recommend using Andy if you have a puppy or dog that you want to...
Read moreMy puppy started the daycare here a few months ago. They have a swinging door at the desk where they keep the small dogs up front behind the desk... My puppy is 8 months old and 4pds that gets excited to see people and other dogs. If anyone behind the desk opened the gate, they wouldn't watch her, and she would escape. Well, due to nothing being done to fix the problem, they let her escape outside to the parking lot and luckily was able to catch her. I only found this out through a family member telling me. The only thing they would do is put her in a kennel alone all day. When I found out she escaped outside, I went and picked her up and was told she could only return if I got her training through Andy... the "trainer" at Chinquapin...haha, well I call Andy for help and he tells me no, he will not train my dog and she is not allowed back unless she goes outside in the yard with the big dogs. Really, you want to put a 4pd Chorkie outside with 50-100pd dogs...So I told them if they aren't willing to help train a 8 month old puppy she would not be back. And they could care less... so if you have a puppy that loves people and other dogs I would not recommend this place!! If you want someone to train your puppy, good luck with Andy. His attitude about my dog was uncalled for!!

Read moreMy husband and I have two strong-willed Sheltie puppies with a full dose of herd dog mentality. They needed training and so did we. We had tried another trainer and were not getting the desired results, so we brought them to Andy. What a difference!
Andy's classical conditioning is practical and applies common sense. He is firm with the puppies, but also shows them affection. As a result, they both respect him and our most headstrong puppy loves him. We liked that he would come to our home and work with them.
Take our advice; we would have been more prepared and would have made fewer mistakes that established bad behaviors if we had used Andy's methods from the beginning. We wish that we had had the training before we picked up...
