Waffle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

I will start off by saying that I've eaten at this waffle house several times before, and never had a problem... but today my wife and I ate here, and it was the worst dining experience either one of us has ever had.

1. We ordered our food and a couple minutes later the waitress informed us that they were out of gravy and that they probably wouldn't be making any more... A "breakfast" restaurant, and they're not making more gravy?
2. My wife bit into an egg shell in her eggs AND found a hair embedded in them.
3. Our waitress forgot to bring our toast out at first, and while we watched, she made our toast without gloves, which to me isn't the end of the world if I know she keeps her hands clean, which brings me to...
4. After we got all of our food, we saw our waitress eat a piece of bacon, lick her fingers, and then continue to make toast for another table.

My All Star meal was served on a chipped plate. I asked for a new order. The waitress took the plate to the manager's office for his inspection. The manager informed me that the plate had a few chips but was usable and would put the same food on another plate. This was not acceptable and I voiced my concerns however the manager stated he knew for a fact that there were no chipped pieces of glass in my food. What would do???? I did not eat the food but was still charged. Luckily someone came in who happened to be the area manager and returned my money. And the employees their threatened to call the police when I took pictures of a waitresses with her mask only covering her mouth, coughing, sneezing, wiping her nose then touching the plates without gloves or washing her hands. The food was really good cooked well not burnt or raw which is always an issue elsewhere. The staff was very friendly. In particular an African a.erican elder lady who in fact was our waitress. She was handling EVERYTHING very busy. This place was super packed, busy but even so our waitress was delightful. I saw how people came ate & barely left a good tip. Which is sad bcz these people work their butts off. As my husband & I sat & watched, mind you with a smile at that. I left her a great tip personally & on my card.
