Once Upon an Apple Pie — Local services in Grimes

I drove by this little pie shop on my birthday and thought ummm... I should... turned the vehicle around and popped in. Great selection of individual pies to choose from. I got 4 different individual pies (blueberry, apple crisp, banana cream, raspberry lemon) not too pricey going for 22 bucks for the four pies. Super nice man behind the counter share the history of the business and identified wife was ar home making custom orders and he was covering the shop. Which I found to be awesome as that is some good team work! I got home and had to try one, started with banana cream pie. The crust had good flavor for sure but man was it hard (almost broke my tooth) banana filling was watery but had good flavor. Then the next one i tried was the apple crisp but I decided to heat that one up before eating (1 min in microwave after i removed the tin pie pan) delicious 😋(almost like a party in my mouth). I am hoping the blueberry pie heated up will give me the same celebration in my mouth as the apple pie did. 😁 so far my review is 50/50. I will update when I try the other two pies for the...

If you love fantastic high quality pie then you need to visit Once Upon an Apple Pie in Grimes. I was bummed last last saturday as i arrived late in the day and they had already sold out. The good stuff goes fast. My goal was to be the first customer in the door this morning.

Mission accomplished and plenty of pie to choose from. Went with the pumkin smores, lemon rasberry, and boston cream. Learn from my mistake, get there early and you won't be disappointed.
