Heavenly Delights — Restaurant in Grimes

We visited Heavenly Delights for the first time in Sunday night after living in the Johnston/Grimes area for 10+ years now. Have always heard good things about it and the ice cream was very good. The place was really busy on a warm Sunday evening (to be expected) but it made it difficult to see the case to checkout all the flavors to be prepared to order when it was our turn. The various menu options (cones, bowls, sundaes, shakes, etc) weren't the most clearly explained on the board as to exactly how small/large they were. My daughter ordered a medium bowl and she would've been fine with a small, which was what I ended up ordering for myself. My wife ordered a shake that was also about a size larger than she would have preferred.

Overall the experience was good from the ice cream perspective. I will say that when we went inside, there was a very strong smell of....almost like a bag of lawn fertilizer sitting around or some sort of pesticide. Not sure if they had just recently had a pest servicing done it what the situation was, but we weren't staying long anyway since it was busy...

A very wonderful local business that serves up delicious desserts. They offer soft serve ice cream to smoothies. So many different flavors with good price. There’s seating for customers both inside and outside. Very friendly and excellent customer service !

There’s decent amount of parking available right in front of the store. It’s very clean and family friendly retro looking vibe indoor seating. They accept credit cards and cash. If you uses credit cards to pay and would love to tip, remember to tell them before handing over your card so they can ring it up for you.

This place is Heaven on Earth. I get the crunch come. Every. Time. What is a crunch cone? Let me tell you. It is Vanilla soft serve ice cream that mixes m&ms, heath, oreos, or krunch kote into your soft serve ice cream cone. That's right, it spits the m&m pieces into the icecream as it is coming out of the machine. It's a soft serve vanilla & m&m cone. Mind Blown. Do yourself a favor and get one, because as if eating a soft serve m&m cone wasnt good enough, their soft serve is also off the hook. This place does it right. It might look busy, but it has enough staff to move you...
