Breadeaux Pizza — Restaurant in Grimes

We came into this restaurant last night and ordered and paid for a large pizza. When our pizza arrived it looked awfully small for a large. I asked the young man what size pizza it was and he said, "Large" The people sitting next to us commented, "They told us, ours was a medium, looks the same size as yours." In the mean time I asked him for plates and was informed "they are by the counter." I went up and got plates and we started eating. The pizza was good.

A few minutes later the table sitting behind us got their pizza and it was significantly larger than ours. I asked them what size they got and they told me it was a large. We compared our pizzas and ours was much smaller. By this time our family of four has completely finished our "Large" pizza. I took the pan up to the counter and asked the young lady what size pan this was, She nervously said "umm, medium."

The young man who had previously lied to me about our pizza was evidently the manager, and I use that term very loosely, I'm guessing he was maybe 16. He went on to explain that they "put our large pizza on a medium pan to make it look bigger." Huh? what? "Since you ordered thin crust they are smaller than traditional crust, but still cost the same as a large." Dumbfounded, I requested a refund of the difference in cost between a large and medium. The "Manager" shrugged his shoulders and said you got what you ordered. I will be calling ownership on Monday to get a real explanation and to get my refund. Lying to customers faces is not good business. Everyone in the place was was amazed that he continued to perpetrate this clear fabrication. Al he needed to do was admit the mistake and move on. I took a good amount of time evaluating local pizza places to try. Out of many of the top rated locations, most reviews expressed they all the locations at assorted pizza places went down hill after changing ingredients. I came across Breadeaux, I have driven past but never thought to try. The atmosphere was nice, with polite staff. The pizza was done relatively fast. The flavor was great, one of the top pizzas ive had around town. The bread sticks are what lower my rating of this place. Breadsticks are what I get hyped for. I was sad to see they were undercooked flavorless dough. Out of a large order of breadsticks, between my spouse and I we only had half of a single breadstick. Could definitely use some improvement! Otherwise I enjoyed my experience here- Wish theyd offer water as well, soda was all they had...

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time that I’ve ordered food through this particular company that I’ve either not gotten what I’ve ordered, or I’ve had something go wrong with the delivery itself. I ordered a chicken chef salad, a large bbq chicken pizza, a meat tortellini pasta, and a 16 piece toasted ravioli. I received a text that my order was on its way at 752 pm. By 816 pm, I went to check my mail and my food was sitting on the floor. I didn’t receive a knock on my door, didn’t receive a text saying the food was here. I can deal with that. I bring my food in absolutely just ecstatic about the chef salad because it’s one of my go to’s from this place… I paid 8.99 for a small side salad. All the food was lukewarm. I’m done.
