Third visit since new owners. First visit got the build your own phó, things seemed to have not changed broth was tasty and meat I chose was flavorful, plenty of basil, jalapeño, and bean sprouts. Second visit I ordered the number 1 phó without tripe. The broth was much thinner and lighter almost more like it was made from chicken bone. Not my cup of tea. There wasn’t any tendon in my bowl and I brought it to their attention and it was rectified immediately. Third visit I ordered the chicken wings and a a Báhn mi dac beit. I’ve eaten over 100 Báhn mi in my lifetime never had one like this. Light on everything and no jalapeño. One chicken wing was raw and cold in the middle, spit that out and informed the waitress. Manager/owner came out and comped the meal. I really didn’t want that I want great Vietnamese food. Mostly cuz it’s my favorite out to eat meals. This isn’t my last time here I will be back for the Báhn Xeo. I’m really hoping they step up their flavor profiles cuz this place is close to my house or it’s back to my favorites and a drive.
Went back for a fourth visit and ordered the Báhn Xeo. Came out looking like an American pancake super thick and doughy. Definitely undercooked and to thick. I’m guessing the kitchen has no clue how to make Viet dishes. Probably won’t return. If you’re looking for watered down Vietnamese food this is your place.
*didn’t yell at the staff, despite the owners suggestion of this. I stand by my review, I was served raw chicken, the Báhn Xeo was not cooked properly, and the Báhn mi...
Read moreFirst time customer. Ordered chicken fried rice to-go over the weekday lunch hour. Portion size was enough to make two full meals. The flavor of the fried rice itself was 10/10…I was blown away! Definitely the most flavorful I’ve had in Grimes and the neighboring towns. I’m giving the dish 4/5 stars because although the amount of chicken in the dish was generous (and very much appreciated), I wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor of the chicken. It seems like it may have been cooked in bulk ahead of time to be used for various dishes on the menu and then just thrown into the rice to be warmed up, which is understandable, but it does detract from the flavor. It’d be amazing if it could be cooked fresh to order, but still overall happy with this dish.
It would also be nice to see some lunch special offerings. For example, a smaller main portion but included is a Vietnamese egg roll or crab rangoon, etc.
Looking forward to coming back to try other menu items...
Read moreAlways looking for great Asian cuisine, especially Vietnamese/Thai oriented. Found this place and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Arrived around 3pm on Saturday, April 27 and was immediately greeted by the owner/mgr? and other staff. Started off with the fresh spring rolls, which were huge for the price. Probably almost twice as big, as we have had at other places. They were excellent!! Ordered Black Milk Tea and Thai milk boba tea, which were great. Very flavorful. Main courses consisted of Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (S1). Not a heat spicy but more flavorful spice. A large portion. The waitress even commented how impressed she was that I finished it all. Wife had the Combo Fried rice Bowl (R2). Very large portion and very tasty. She took half of it home for lunch tomorrow. All in all, I would recommend giving this place a try. Very quaint and clean...
