The Literary Hideaway is absolutely everything you could want in a local bookshop and café. The book selection is fantastic, and I love how easy and convenient it is to order titles that aren’t currently on the shelf (seriously, they make it so simple). The food and desserts are the delicious creations from Sugar Island Baking Co (and they have a gluten free option - chicken salad w/o the croissant and a gf dessert called a date round). Their coffee comes from my favorite local roaster (Hooked on a Bean), and I’m obsessed with their teas - whether hot or iced, they’re always perfect! In addition to ALL of that, they serve beer, cider, and wine, too! It's been such a fun place to meet up with friends for a drink.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the kind of place where you want to linger. You can tell the owner has poured her heart and soul into building something special for her community.
The staff is incredibly helpful. Not only are they great at finding the perfect book for you, but they’re also genuinely passionate about the stories they read and share.
The shop also hosts book clubs and special author events as well as private events, and I've enjoyed everything that I've attended so far! The shop is also scattered with wonderful gift options and a children’s boutique upstairs - the perfect spot to find something unique for a baby shower.
I hate to play favorites, but The Literary Hideaway has quickly become one of my FAVORITE spots...

So welcoming and I love the smell of books and coffee. The upstairs boutique area adorable. I purchased candles, other items and...

I used to drive all the way to Ann Arbor to find that cozy, indie bookstore vibe—but now there's finally a place nearby that has it all. The book selection is great, the coffee is amazing, and the pepperoni rolls are next level.
They even ordered me all of the Booker Prize books—super helpful and so easy to work with.
My daughter loves story time there, too. Now she’s always asking when we can go back to...
