Galindo’s A Taste of Mexico — Restaurant in Grosse Ile Township

Alright first things first: for the love of God please go down the road to the grosse Ile hardware store and purchase a $5.28 can of WD-40 and fix the squeaking of the patio door that is open approximately every 15 and a half seconds.

We waited a bit longer than necessary for our food, around 20 minutes on a Monday. My water glass was completely empty and things we asked for were not brought back to the table. I understand that the patio was full at the time but either hire more waitresses or create a wait list so your customers can receive a good experience.

The food was decent. I got a chorizo burrito which was tasty. Portion sizes are good for the cost but unfortunately because we had lackluster service we will likely rather travel off the island a to Angelina's for better food and significantly better service.

As I typed this entire review, we are STILL waiting for Togo boxes we asked for over 15 minutes ago. It's not that the server was mean, she was friendly but good lord, check in on us more than once every 25 minutes.

Not sure how this place gets so many 5 star reviews I've had great Mexican food this isn't it. Lets start with the good. The botana platter is decent(not 5 star but good. The have a decent salsa the chips are also good. I have eaten here many times due to proximity of home. I actually liked them better when they just had the food truck. The service of good. I have one problem still not resolved. The price online (their own website) is less than in the restaurant or even takeout. Just a few items but the items I eat. When I brought this to their attention I just received shrugged shoulders and an attitude to match. There are a number of decent Mexican restaurants in south metro Detroit this isn't one of them. They also seem to like their food more than most at least they charge more than most. I have had a few steak dishes and each one has been poor quality cut and well overcooked. If you're in Grosse Ile and you want decent Mexican I would recommend you buy the ingredients and cook it yourself or drive to Mexicantown you have 4 or more better...

Chips and salsa was great My meal, not so great I ordered ala cart 1 flour shell beef taco 1 beef enchilada and 1 corn shell beef taco The shells were so hard I requested to send them back and the cook said that’s just how they make them I sent them back anyway I was not satisfied with her response so they only made me new shells and I used the remaining meat from too hard shells I didn’t like the red sauce on the enchilada either it was a weird looking red color and it wasn’t served hot The ground beef was not seasoned very well and it was thick and coarse it was just like some fried hamburger not ground fine enough for filling tacos enchiladas and etc Galindo’s was highly recommended to me by a coworker and I tried it but it wasn’t...
